I bought one of these back in 2003 and fully restored it and used it as everyday transport. A lovely little bike with fine looks and even better handling, particularly through the twisties. I recall being pursued through some fine twisties in Warwickshire by a guy on a bike of 3x the capacity of mine. When he finally caught up with me at some lights, he drew alongside and couldn’t believe that I was on only a 250 and remarked what a fine handling bike it was. And I wasn’t a particularly good rider; it was purely down to the capability of the bike. I still have the wee-bee and will get it back on the road as soon as I can - your video has inspired me. Thanks.

I sold mine and have regretted doing so since moment it left my shed. Fortunately I have other bikes to occupy my time.

My first bike and my true love. Even though I owned a series of 3 1/2s from ‘74 to ‘81, my tobacco brown 2C was my go to ride. They only imported 25 into the US in this color option.

I didn't know they came in any other colour than red

Flat out on the Massachusetts turnpike I saw about 85....battered a bit by passing tractor trailers....great times.

85 was pretty quick back then for a 250.

You can reassemble the 'Ace' bars upside-down for a slightly more relaxed riding position.
@oldguyinshed17033 жыл бұрын
I kind of toyed with the idea changing the position but I just love the look they went for and really don't want to go against the style.

Hi, again , Hope all is well with you. Do you still have that lovely little C2 250 ? I have just bought one last week and I'm struggling to find out where is the best or even only place to get spares/parts for these Moto Morini classics ? Hope you dont mind me asking these Q? Regards David.

I am sorry I don't have it now but since North Leicester motorcycles closed I guess the owners club is about the best place to start.

My Morini 250 had a very clonky agricultural gear box and wasn't much fun....I swapped it for a Kawasaki ZX6R
@oldguyinshed17033 жыл бұрын
That's odd as the one I have is really slick I wonder if yours had the wrong oil, I have had that in the past, not that its any consolation to you, the ZX6R is a cracking bike in any event.
@adrianpeake60843 жыл бұрын
@@oldguyinshed1703 maybe...it reminded me of those terrible old BSA's you mentioned...hard work and clonky...I never rode the ZX6R...it was too intimidating....it was minty and local chap bought it for £1200

I wonder how much the torque at relatively low revs has got to do with the Heron-cylinder head (i.e Ford Cortina...combustion chamber in piston) design? If that indeed is the case with the smaller Morinis.
@oldguyinshed17033 жыл бұрын
I think it is heron heads but I think the torque come more from being a v twin. It is an extremely light machine as well which also helps.

What else could you want ? apart from less traffic possibly :-)

warmer weather maybe, though I really did enjoy both the ride and the bike.

Can you also stick the video on without the commentary, ie. just the engine noise? Cheers
