That is one bad 65, the 7.3 is a lethal unit properly built and tuned. As much as I love FEs the diesel surprisingly is cheaper to build because the rarity of aftermarket parts and the sky high cost of OE high performance FE parts. I am lifelong Ford guy and have owned virtually every high performance Ford engine with the exception of the 427 SOHC and Boss 429, however I am building a 598 c.i. FBB to put in my 98 Mustang GT.

Craig. The crew cab needs a 7.3 TD. I’ve owned many of them and no they are not slow. In fact a completely stock 12 valve is much slower than a stack 7.3TD.
@TylerDuysen
@TylerDuysen Жыл бұрын
thats because stock vs stock the powertstroke and idi even made the most hp and tq out of the three(cummins duramax/6.2and 6.5detroit powerstroke/6.9 and 7.3 idi and 7.3 idit) ford makes the most power stock cummins guys just hate to admit it for some reason there bothe great engines besides the 6.0 and 6.4 and the 53 block 12v and newest 6.7 cummins(because of emissions failure destroying the engine) but yes i agree this needs a 7.3 ps swap

So yeah, I'm not even a Ford guy, but the bedside coming off of that sweet sweet short bed, hitting the roof and the back of the cab....that hurt....alot of the serious Australian burnout cars have reinforced wheel wells, with a sharpened edge on the back, so the tire gets cut off on its way around. I'm surprised I don't see more people do that. Especially if it's old, rusty, and flexible to start with.

@@butterknife_mtb_rc just remember me, and the Aussie's when your quarter panel doesn't wad up from a Flappy flinger.just things I've learned.... P series tires will explode at sustained 120mph wheel speed. z speed rated take 150 160+ wheel speed to pop, but there are exceptions. Don't risk extremely dry rotted tires for a serious burnout, unless it's prepped properly specifically for it.

Thats a crew cab before crew cabs were cool.. Friend of mine bought 2 , 68 or 69, crew cab dodge trucks that were Colorado forest service trucks..they had low miles , but 99% of those miles were off road... I begged him to sell me one , but nothing doing.. He passed away & his widow just cant let go of his cars/trucks.. Maybe some day..

Seeing the tire take out the side of that beautiful truck hurt my heart. What's done is done and all they can do is pick up the pieces and move forward. And there's just something about those old crew cab trucks from back then. One thing that's fact about car shows is it's just as much about the people as it is the cars themselves. Glad to see all of you supporting each other to grow as a team. And that limo and crew cab on one trailer was hysterical. The limo didn't look like it had the truck by more than a foot or so.

Hey Craig, I know I'm not the only wanna be on this adventure but it has passed and I'm a bit worse for wear So thanks to you and Dylan and the gang for taking us virtually on this crazy adventurama.. p.s. My family had a long bed '69 F something designed for use with a 10' foot-in-bed camper, a sliding bumper in the rear so when the extra 2 feet hung past the end of the bed you could slide the bumper out on its rails and WA LA you still have a Barden steel bumper. Our camper had a 4' overcab bed. My brothers and I rode up there anytime we went on our weekend trips hither and yonder. BUT that switch of fuel sketchy scene lit up the seat and also my memory which shot back to 1971, I've seen that seat before. Same color and material, deja vu. Yeah it's amazing how well it was preserved, 5 decades, that's crazy!

I honestly am in love with that 7.3 swapped 64...it's beautiful and it's fast. I also know that addiction to that boost pull. I have a 1997 (EJ8 body style) Honda Civic coupe with a fully built LSVTEC (an Acura Integra base model non-VTEC block with a Civic Type-R DOHC VTEC head) that has tuner stage 3 cams, aftermarket valvetrain, fully ported and polished head, forged rods and pistons, CSS block, 3.5L Ultra Race intake manifold, 90mm throttle body, PLM top mount turbo manifold and 3" downpipe, GTS3582 dual ball bearing turbo with a billet compressor wheel, Integra GSR transmission with a modified OBX LSD, 1320 Performance twin-disc clutch, Walbro rewired and relayed Hellcat 530 LPH fuel pump, Skunk2 composite fuel rail, Grams 2200cc injectors, Mishimoto radiator and four core front mount intercooler, Tial Q50 BOV, Turbosmart 60mm wastegate, Mac 4 port EBC, running on Hondata S300 V3, Hondata COP setup, Accel coils, Frontline Fabrications billet valve cover and COP mounting plate, Aeromotive external FPR, 8AN feed and 6AN return lines, and the best run on 14x26 MT slicks was 9.56 @ 155 mph. It made 709 whp at 34 psi. I'm already overpowering the max power rating for the Eagle H-beam rods that's in the block, but the CP 9.0:1 pistons can handle more. I know that I'm barking up the wrong tree with me owning an import, but I love all builds regardless of their make or model, and I love fast cars, so I figured you could appreciate my story.

Although they make this "Land Barge" look awesome, where did you obtain those Yellow Headlight Bulbs (incandescent or LED?), and how are these legal on public Highways? Here in Washington State they are considered "Off-Road" therefore illegal on both Federal and State roads... I want some LED "Yellows" for my 1966 FORD Falcon Econoline Panel Van for visibility and "badass cred"! But I may have to use Clear LED Bulbs with yellow "city lights built into the headlight bulbs" for accent and Fog Light applications.
