The Pacific Northwest... the place that every mountain biker DREAMS of visiting... I've finally made it. AND I get to live here for 5 months. I'm excited, I hope you're excited. This type of riding blows my mind! Unlike anything we have here in the UK. Rather than trying to go flat out it looks like technique and patience is key to getting down safe. Would love to try it!

Precisely! It is too much fun and a unique kind of fear to overcome. Not many places in the world have any riding like this… I’m well traveled and I’ve only seen it in a handful of select regions. I do recall Danny Macaskill had that awesome slab video in the England / Scotland area - can’t remember specifically where. But it definitely wasn’t a traditional riding trail 😅

Gotta come and ride some of the rock slabs in Australia. Funnily enough there are some great trails near Beacon Hill in Sydney .

You should check out Dry Hill, located in Port Angeles Wa!! It is incredible. Fastest trails I’ve seen in the state. They are having the North West cup in a couple months. Definitely recommend looking Into. Eastern Wa is dryer, once you cross Snoqualme pass, the hero dirt begins!!

The dirt is so much better now than it was when you were there at the end of summer. Thanks to local efforts over the past several years, most of Beacon's trails are now public land. Development continues to be an issue, but all of what you rode in the video is public as well as a whole bunch of other great trails that you didn't get to.

I’m not intimately familiar; however, some quick research leads me to believe it was originally a mix of privately owned land and city parks. In 2020, Spokane county and the city of Spokane purchased additional private land to ensure conservation of the trails. Hopefully a local with more familiarity can chime in with specifics.

Really great showcase for Beacon Hill. Its the "Inland" NW tho, Spokane doesnt like to associate with those filthy Seattleites. :)

Thank you 🙏🏼 and I had a feeling this could catch flack for being considered PNW - but in comparison to the rest of the US, it counts. Slabs, skinnies, WA state ✅ the rest of the country could dream for having just Beacon Hill 😅

Spokane has more in common with Seattle than differences. At the end of the day, we're all still in the Cascadia region.

@@firestorm734 couldn’t have said it better myself. Not to mention there’s so much more to the PNW than Seattle… firstly, Canada has something to say. Secondly, Oregon is equally impressive. And so many other gems as well.
