We're finally coming to a close with our 1.8 BP4W Miata engine rebuild. In past episodes I built the engine up to the long block. It's time to finish dressing the motor, get it started and break it in. I ran into a little "first start" drama since this car's been sitting a decade. Can't beat a fresh motor!

That was the best most informative video series on rebuilding a 1.8 BP4W that I have ever seen. Very good job sir! The video was very clear and you showed the complete process from pulling the engine to putting it back in after the rebuild. I might have to do mine soon but I'm doing a piston soak first and getting some promising results. Thank you for putting this video series out there because it will definitely help me when I do mine and will help anyone else who needs to do a 1.8 Miata rebuild. I highly recommend this.

THANK YOU SIR!!...I've been procrastinating putting my 1.6 engine back together since I disassembled it three years ago and kinda forgot where some parts went. Watching your videos has helped ALOT! Weird thing is I also had tape on my engine mount....🤔

Awesome! Glad it helped. Yeah when the rubber part of the mount dries up a bit it stops holding onto the metal part of the mount. Must be a common thing

Love the engine rebuild series, had a 93 crystal white miata that I drove to death and loved until it was totaled from a woman rear ending me at a red light. I have missed my miata since :( I am however currently looking at trading for a few different miatas that all need rebuilds. Could not ask for a more informative instructional video. I have never built an engine in my life however with all the details and information you put into this video I feel a huge weight off my shoulders. 10/10 recommend this video series, great job sir!

Good Job. But if you would have taken the time to flush your fuel system and clean fuel lines and injectors, that would have been a Great Job! :)

Hello, thank you! The cost of machine work on this engine cost $800 for all the cylinder head work and another $875 for all the block/crank work. Could have been cheaper if it wasn't so beat up.

Im about to start my rebuild just got the engine out tonight. Its a 1.8 Curious if you have a final price for rebuild with new parts? Where did you source the new parts?

Right around 2200 was the final cost. Machine work was the bulk of that. I used the DNJ rebuild kit which came with new pistons and all since I was just doing a stock style rebuild. I believe partsology is the website I used
