Aretha took this song and made it her own. She brought the song to life and put a lot more soul into it than the original version which was sung by Dionne Warwick in 1967. The song: "I Say A Little Prayer", was originally recorded by Dionne Warwick in 1967 and reached #4 on the Hot 100 and #8 on the R&B chart. The song returned to the Pop and R&B Top Ten in the fall of 1968 via a recording by Aretha Franklin taken from her 1968 album: Aretha Now.
