That last bit you didn’t like so much is the part most YG songs have. It’s as YG party endings to their songs. Loads of their groups have it even included in their solo work too

And that is one of the best things of YG songs. Especially Big Bang and Treasure songs (just my personal preference). They do stay true to themselves though.

@@Niki91-HR yes it’s what makes them stand out! It doesn’t feel like you’re having to listen to a repeated chorus all over again and it’s a exciting way to do what would be a bridge of a song followed by a chorus traditionally

You'll be glad to know Asa was credited in both lyrics and production. I'm honestly shocked they are giving any creit to any of the girls since it's a debut album. To allow them to do that can only mean that they are literally that good.

One of the rappers asa is also credited with writing the lyrics and co composing the song, i already have high expectations from their rapline🤍plus their vocals and visuals are a standout too, and I absolutely loved the swaggy choreo. Hope yg take a different lane from the usual yg kind of music and bring more versatility coz these girls have great potential fr

Nah, YG should stick on how they started and branded themself in the industry which is hiphop. This song is a clear statement of that and i dig it. I hope they wont change genres quick as other groups do that as part of an experiment. Keep it YG, keep it hiphop influenced, the girls are made for it.

Gotta keep it real and say : - Rap part was CRAZY ( especially Asa ) - They Ate - Choreo was CLEAN - Chiquita def got IT - Major 2ne1 vibes - MV is great , once again the COLORS, YG knows their sh*t for real - This sounds So YG that it doesn't feel like Babymonster, it feels like YG - Chorus is ...boring to say the least - Vocals were good as expected but not impressive - Underwhelming (consdering how talented the girls are and how hyped they've been - 7/10 ( and honestly 4 of those points go for the rap part ) - Good thing this is a debut because that means there is much room for evolution. - Even tho this is mostly a miss for me, will def still support them because these girls are extremely talented and deserve support and respect.

Thats a decent debut song. YG better treat them very good and give them more comebacks not like with what the did with Blackpink. Their rappers really dont disappoint. And the finish...well thats a classic YG move. No YG no Party. Although it could have been a bit smoother tbh.

You'd have to be a YG stan to fully understand the whole concept of this video. Babymonster was paying homage to past and present YG artists by incorporating their sounds and styles into their debut song. Even their lyrics mentioned " Square Up " Blackpink's 1st mini album and Asa wearing the black/pink outfit with the same color background. And since it's their debut, they ended it with their introduction to the world it's their turn at bat with the typical YG party chant dance break. Some people dislike it as you do, but others, knowing Kpop switches it around a lot in their songs accept it as YG's trademark. And actually, when done live at concerts, the crowds go crazy. It keeps the concert atmosphere hype and fun.

In the music video the girls sound great. The song is a very typical YG song, which is a bit boring (the chanting needs to change). The pre-chorus, chorus, bridge and chanting outro are so similar in the YG formula, but the flow was smooth and the vocals+rap were nice to listen to. I really want Babymonster to have their own sound, so I'm looking forward to what they will give us in the future!

That’s YG signature. Party style in every of their songs starting from Bigbang until BabyMonster. Their songs all suits for concert and YGE doesn’t care wether we like it or not, they just stay true to their signature styles!

I enjoy this song soooo much except for the last bit you mentioned as well. I know this is like a typical YG ending and usually I love those endings (in Blackpink, Treasure etc. songs) but this one just felt so disconnected from the rest of the song if this makes sense? But still, the song is a bangerrrr and i can't wait to hear more from Baemon🔥

Batter Up is their debut. Pre debut was Dream. Also you should watch the Final evaluation series clean version individual songs. You missed slot after you watched the introduction. A lot to catch up.

I really don't know what to do with these comments 😂I'm getting really tired now Why do you all keep comparing groups with each other. So what if its beat sounds familiar, after all it's the same company. Personally i liked this song and didn't get any blackpink or treasure feeling, but yes just the ending "party" sounded to me like 2ne1. Living up to a legend and mimicking a legend end up in contrasting results. How is being bootleg blackpink a success? When has it ever worked. The group has so much potential but YG made it look so stale with their generic n monotonous concept they feed every group. Blackpink is one legend faction, u can't put another group in the same pedestal on their debut with similar theme as them and expect them to deliver. That's not what audience wants. People don't want a second blackpink coz that ain't gonna happen, we want these girls to explore their own potential and come up with something fire n if YG continues to shove them down as BP 2.0 then it's a disaster in the making..

Was I the only one who thought this sounded like a BP song?? Honestly kinda disappointed. The song is just fine, but debuts are supposed to be impressive... This left a lot to be desired. Their own unique sound being at the top of that list. 😒

Agreed. Especially the MV was so unimpressive. We all know what YG can do when it comes to MV. This was underwhelming. The song was good but not the level of a debut song. I hope they get something else out soon that’s a bit more jaw dropping

@@bigredcrazyk I don't understand why anyone at this point thinks that they're going to get something new from YG. You're not. Period. He learned long ago that the formula he uses works. It did for 2NE1, BP, and it will work for BM. 22.5mil views in the first 24hrs kinda proves him right. You can complain all you want about recycled sounds but until people actually stop listening then don't expect any change until he departs.
