I’m 38, I grew up listing to this Rocafella prime shit and it really is just some classic stuff. Very repeatable, the flows have you thinking different, the bars and punchlines are just more well thought out, some talented ass dudes who still struggled with a lot of things. This was my favorite Beanie album, he ain’t the same after this. But Rocafella in its heyday was just untouchable

I always thought Beans and Freeway made a good duo on tracks together...This was a dope record....Beans was a slept on artists...I loved his debut album The Truth...it was so raw....this was a dop song though..good review and reaction...you should maybe do one of Freeway songs off of Philadelphia Freeway...I loved that album too...Just Blaze was killin it on the production too and Freeway was dropping some bars

Bro I LOOOOOOOOVE Jay-Z There is zero question that Jay stole Chris' shit. Just no question at all. Jay's flow from Blueprint through Black Album is a xerox copy of Chris. Honestly Siegel did too.. just not as blatantly. Before Chris came on.. they all rapped like regular East Coast rappers.. then around 99, they started using this breathless kinda flow.. this shit where it's a gutteral flow.. followed by a line or two where their breath gets a little weird to add emphasis. That is Chris. Straight up and down. There's other elements to it too.. may be hard to catch bc so many people wound up stealing Jay's flow that he stole from Chris so it kinda became a standard flow.. but if you listen to like Vol. 2 Jay.. then listen to something like Hovi Baby off of Blueprint 2 or Girls, Girls, Girls Remix off Blueprint (which you should absolutely react to btw), it's just so clear when Jay's flow switches over to something different.. and if you were around for those days it was always obvious where he got it from. This song (I can't go on this way) btw.. is maaaaaaybe my favorite song from this era of Rocafella. Beat is crazy, and Chris and Siegel both kill it.

On the Dynasty and Blueprint Jay sounded nothing like Chris. Only songs I can think of is Excuse Me Miss, La La La and Nigga Please which is Jay feat Chris. Dynasty Chris wasn’t even around or signed to Rocafella yet. Either way Beanie Sigel, Jay and Neef was using that flow. Beans has a deeper grimier voice so you probably didn’t notice. To me that was like a crew thing. But Jay only somewhat used that flow on a couple songs. Besides Jay’s RD, Vol 1, Vol 2, Vol 3 and The Dynasty flow way better than that bulls!t whisper flow anyway.

I could run down dozens of songs from right around BP through Black Album where Jay steals Chris' shit Think It's a Game Hovi Baby All Around the World Girls Girls Girls Remix Lyrical Exercise That Sean Paul bullshit on BP2 Kingdom Come intro Nigga Please Blueprint 2 (the Nas diss) Somehow Some Way Guns and Roses (Honesty the whole fucking BP2 is a Chris album) Encore Dirt off Your Shoulders 99 Problems Change Clothes PSA Honestly.. again.. the whole Black Album is Chris too fr If all you're listening for is the whisper then yeah.. you may not catch it.. but there's other elements (the whispers/breathlessness.. the HARD emphasis on certain words, especially at the beginning of a line, then a kinda run-on flow to follow) "I'm LIKE.. Che Guevera with bling on.." "Before STEVE Jobs, made the I-pod..." There's just so much he stole from Chris. And yeah Beans stole it too. I already mentioned that. Just not as blatantly as Jay did.

the whole BP2 is Chris flow... but yeah Watcher 2 is HEAVY Chris.. but including a line that isn't whispery at all that's stolen from Chris' bag entirely. (for my money the best line in the song) where Jay goes- know the shit I DON'T write be the illest shit that's ever been recited in the game, word to the hyphen in my NAME You can see there's more to it that he stole from Chris than just the whispery stuff. The way Jay say's "DON'T" and "NAME" in that line is completely stolen from Chris/Peedi how they would emphasize random words in a line to give a little extra. Even the way Jay packs in so many words towards the end of the line is kind of a Chris thing too. There's a bunch of elements Jay took from Chris.. and he used it for three straight albums (Blueprint through Black Album). Honestly more than that bc you can't tell me the Kingdom Come intro isn't a motherfucking Young Chris verse straight up and down.

Back then rappers had multiple flows so you wouldn't hear it every song...but the whisper flow Chris made did get borrowed by Jay and beans too. I think half the label was flowing like Chris at times. But this song has Jada and Styles P back and fourth style at the end. Styles was beans favorite rapper at the time so beans tried it with freeway and Chris alot. I think that played a role in the clash. Back then copying somebody flow outside your crew was a no no.
