This song takes me back 25 years to a funeral. Very wonderful child on the rez broke bad, took a bullet to the head just before 25 b-day. They carried the coffin out of the service with this playing. Not at all knowledgeable about rap, but this one will always be close to my heart because of the lost soul.

Coolio was Born: August 1, 1963, Monessen, PA about a Half an hour away from me can you believe that ? He eventually moved to Compton, California where he began his career in the rap world in the late 1980s .

I played this the day he died. love the church choir vibe. I remember back when it dropped, it was a big graduation song. a song about I'm moving on, I'm gonna keep stepping forward. but alot of people also took it as a death song. I'll see you when I get there as in reaching heavens gates. I know of a few funerals it was played at. I always loved gangstas paradise... but this one, was always my favorite! he's always had such powerful and uplifting lyrics. rip "homie"

I first heard this song in Music lessons at school. Our teacher, not a man you'd expect to be talking about a Collio song, used this as an example of a modern songs interpolation of a piece of classical music; namely Pachelbel's Canon in D Major. I didn't take much from the lessons, but it did introduce me to this song, which I still very much enjoy.
