Kids, Also with David Bowie, legendary musicians Tony Thompson and Stevie Ray Vaughn played on this track. Tony Thompson was a legendary drummer from Chic and The Power Station. Stevie Ray Vaughn was one of the all-time best blues guitarists ever. Rest in Peace, gentlemen.

Yes, and since Nile Rodgers produced Madonna's Like a Virgin album, he had Tony do the drums on that megahit song. He also is drumming on Robert Palmer's Addicted to Love, and Led Zeppelin hunted down Tony and wanted him to play drums with the band for Live Aid. Trent Reznor also asked Tony to play on one his albums. Now those are signs of an amazing heavy hitting drummer. RIP Tony and also SRV.

There’s so many fascinating things about Bowie. His eyes: His eyes are actually both blue but when he was a teen, he got into a fight with his friend over a girl. During the fight they fell to the ground and David hit his head so hard it permanently dilated his left eye. Making it appear a different color. Amazingly he retained full sight after his iconic injury. Also: Another song on this album called “China Girl”. It was a huge hit! It was written by Iggy Pop.

Bowie's left eye was damaged when he was younger in a sports or similar conflict-y situation. Lends an odd, arresting quality to his gaze. You should definitely bounce around his timeline to get an overview of his ever-changing personae. See 'Ziggy Stardust', 'Hang on to Yourself', 'Life on Mars', 'Blue Jean', 'Boys Keep Swinging' on SNL, 'Wild Is the Wind', and 'Loving the Alien'. 'TVC-15', 'Look Back in Anger'. Tons to discover, you've no idea, but enjoy. ;>D

Yes he has two different coloured eyes because when he was a kid another kid hit him in the eye and it changed colour (well, the retina expanded so it just looks dark). The video was shot in Carinbah, a small town in the Australian outback and the reason Bowie wanted to shoot it in Australia was to address the racism he had noticed on prior visits to the country as he noticed you never really saw Aboriginal people anywhere in the cities: not in the beaches, shops, restaurants, bars. So he made the protagonists two aboriginal teenagers and shot it in that town. Bowie and the film crew just turned up to that pub in that little town in the middle of the outback and started shooting, and he used in the video the real people who drank in that pub as he didn't want to use actors. Another video he shot in Australia from the same album as Let's Dance was China Girl which was shot in Sydney. The video could only be shown after midnight in Australia because of it was x-rated, although it would seem tame for nowdays.

For an 80s album, Let's Dance (& Tonight) are pretty good, middle of the road albums. But from an artist of Bowie's calibre they were very much a low point. All of his albums up to this part of his career, he was an innovator. someone other musicians could only emulate & copy. Yes, they were big sellers, but he himself knew he had kinda sold out when instead of seeing lots of Iggy Pop & Lou Reed fans in the audience, he was attracting more Phil Collins type fans. Luckily, this period didn't last too long & he returned to his roots of being ahead of the trends until he passed away.
