Elvis possessed a chameleon voice, always changing. He was soul depth and diversity personified. His critically acclaimed recordings are legendary and in multiple genres of music. And he accomplished this in a very short life.

This was one of his first hits. When he was on tv, they were not allowed to televise him from the waist down. He definitely had hips.

Yeah, some of his moves were considered lewd and indecent. He turned the music industry on it's ear. I think he either used moves from or inspired by Chuck Berry. And in turn inspired others who came after him. When I was little my Mom was always playing Elvis songs. You should give a listen to Hound Dog (you gotta move your feet to that) and the classic slow song, Love Me Tender.

@@fawnebrown4619 Not to diss Elvis but Hound Dog was originally sung by a woman, which I personally thing is more appropriate.

That Voice, That Voice, That Voice!!!!!! Oh man what a voice! Elvis could sing anything and make it rock or swing or make yu weep then the was the heart of a man of Faith in Jesus. His Gospel music was so important to him and it was POWERFUL! Amazing song performances too "My Dream Come True"! Then there was "The Power of My Love" Oh Man that man could Wail and Wail like no other. There are three takes of him doing that song and all three he gives his all for each one and they all sound incredible! On and On it goes too. Just a humble good boy from Tupelo, Mississippi that wanted to do something nice for his mama yet was a real man at the same time. An American through and through to the bone! He loved this country and if he could see the insanity going on right now he wold have sung the people back together if it were possible!

If you see his Live version of Hound Dog, on Milton Berle Show, America went full unhinged after it. Parents, teachers, Mayor's, Police etc etc lost their minds. And the KKK racist types, wanted him dead. He was popularizing Black culture.

Oh man was he ahead of his time. This type of exotic sexy dance was unheard of in the 50's. The media and parents referred to him as the devil, poisoning the youth. Michael Jackson clearly had to been influenced by Presely's dance moves. There's a video of Elvis during a live 50's show. Elvis is weaing black shoes ,white socks, and black pants omgosh his moves, down to when he stands on his toes, the Michael does when he dances to Billy Jean ,at the 25th Motown Annivers. Im sure MJ watched a lot of Elvis dance moves and incorporated them in his moves. MJ says he was inspired by James Brown but he never mentioned Elvis. I see Elvis in Michael and James Brown's moves definitely in Prince.

Thank you man. I admire you for exploring music you probably never heard much growing up. Thank you for remembering the most versatile and talented entertainer who ever graced the earth. But I wouldn't start listening to much to Elvis, because he can become an addiction that is hard to quit. I guess that is why he sold more records than anyone in history. Over a BILLION AND A HALF and still counting. That is why he still has more fan clubs around the world than any living or dead entertainer to this day. He the only singer in all the hall of fame's, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the R&B Hall of Fame, the country and western Hall of Fame and the Gospel Hall of Fame. Can you tell Iike the guy? Ha ha ha. Love you man. God bless you.

HAHAHa 😂 "Elvis doing a Player's Club move on that pole". Yep. He was a trip. Going back to his early childhood in Tupelo Mississippi he learn to move to the music at a young age. His own Mother, along with a lot of the Gospel singers back then, were always kicking up their heels to anything with a beat. Blues Legend Sam Chapman said this was one of his favorite rocking Tunes from the 50s. Said Elvis killed it. You also brought up an interesting point about how lit it would be Elvis was choreographing dance moves when people in prison. I actually thought about that myself before. Elvis went and visited R&B Legend Johnny Bragg in prison. Elvis was there just checking in on him to see if he could help Johnny with money for a better lawyer... Etc. But I was thought how cool it would have been had someone talked Elvis into hanging out long enough to get with Johnny and some other inmates and do a little jam session maybe even dancing to while he was at the penitentiary lol. anyway great reaction

The scene is from the movie Jailhouse Rock. This is a music video he made in the movie, so that people would see convicts and ex-convicts as human beings. It was a 'fun' song just to make it easy for other folks to swallow that bitter reality. In the movie, he beat up a guy who was abusing a woman at a bar, he got thrown in jail for 6 months, jail turned him into a cruel person (he was sweet when he first got to jail), and then a life-changing event makes him a good person again. He definitely didn't rock out during the part where he was actually in jail. He was mostly just crying.
