You watch him today and realize that no entertainer today or since exudes his level of charm, playfulness, sexuality, seductiveness, charisma and a genuinely good and open heart. The self promoting arrogance of artist's today is kinda ugly in comparison isn't it?
@a.m.son222
@a.m.son222 3 жыл бұрын
Artists are required to self promote today if they want to stand any chance. The game is completely different than it was 50 (or even 20) years ago. Record labels do not have the kind of money they used to have to promote most artists. Distribution is what kept their pockets filled, and they don’t have that anymore.
@stevesmith3033
@stevesmith3033 3 жыл бұрын
@@a.m.son222 You misinterpreted what I said. I didn't say self promotion was a problem. I'm well aware that it's required today. It's the arrogance, self importance, aloofness, too cool, fake caring, etc... it's unattractive.

I grew up with much older siblings who were almost out of the house by the time I came along. They were teenagers in the 50's when Elvis hit the scene. In those early days, boys were jealous of Elvis but over time men also became fans (though not my brothers). I fell in love with Elvis the first time I heard him sing and saw his picture on the album cover I was playing. That was in 1966 when I was six years old. Years later I got my first dog and named him Elvis. One day he was hit by a car and severely injured. Turns out his pelvis was broken. I can't tell you how much that made my brothers laugh that Elvis broke his pelvis. I wasn't amused.

@@jennhurl Thank you. My brothers were raised by a very tough mother who grew up during the Great Depression and taught them to hide their emotions, to be tough and to laugh at tragedy. They never changed. LOL. And I should clarify that they didn't laugh about it when my dog was initially injured and suffering. When they'd visit home when I was growing up, they'd tease me about my love for Elvis and always called him Elvis the Pelvis. It wasn't until I was eighteen that I got my first dog. After he made a full recovery or at least was well on the road to recovering, it tickled their funny bone that I had a dog named Elvis who broke his pelvis.

So cool that you watch all these videos with new eyes rather than emphasizing how old they are. ty

I WAS 4 IN 59 WHEN I REMEMBER WATCHING ELVIS WITH MY AUNT WHO WAS 12 AT THE TIME AND SHE HAD ME DANCING WITH HER WHEN HE SANG. I JUST HELD HER HANDS AND JUMPED UP AND DOWN TO THE MUSIC. SHE IS STILL A BIG FAN OF ELVIS AND SO AM I. I LOVE IT WHEN ALL OF YOU YOUNG PEOPLE GET TO SEE AND HEAR ALL THE GREAT MUSIC WE HAD AND THE SINGERS THEMSELVES. LOVE YOUR REACTIONS! GOD BLESS YOU!

I love Elvis! Such an amazing artist and good looking. My uncle actually worked on his house at Graceland. He never got his autograph but now he wishes he had. It’s a shame he didn’t but that’s life. Great reaction!

I remember when Elvis died and I was working the front desk at the pool in the neighborhood. I was in 7th grade and I just answered the phones and checked to see if people had their "pins". I heard it on the radio and I didn't know what to do. I was stunned. But I didn't know if it was just me who thought it was a big deal. I was by myself in the little front office. I finally told my manager when he came in the office. He was a college guy and he freaked out too so I was relieved. lol. Yes. Elvis had guy fans is my point. hahahaha.

This is great. Check him out singing “When My Blue Moon Turns To Gold Again” from the same gig. ✌️

He was charming as hell, funny, playful, and sexy af. Ya gotta react to one of his films! They're sappy, but for and full of music. Blue Hawaii would be a good one! TV censored him more than films, so he busts some hot hip action.

I've loved his music since I was a little girl listening to my dad's records in the early 70's. Elvis's first album has always been my favorite.

😃This was the performance they only filmed him from the stomach up, bc they got thousands of complaints that Elvis was “gyrating his hips too suggestively” & it was “indecent” to the women & children😂. Hilarious. They realized Elvis the Pelvis couldn’t NOT dance and sing & just let him go buck wild after a few performances. Lol
