Beastie Boys have countless bangers like this. It's pretty much all they did. Check out Paul Revere, Shake Your Rump, So Whatcha Want, The New Style, Hey Ladies....great reaction and recognition of hip hop legends!

Beasties were a Punk band turned HipHop. They just wanted to keep the party going. This was a huge party anthem in the 80’s. License to Ill is a must album for any HipHop head just fun. 3 MC’s and 1 DJ video is 🔥🔥🔥

Beastie boys made huge impacts in a lot of ways. They were really the originators of rap rock, and the crossover of hip hop and skateboard culture. They’re the reason things like Supreme exist. They were never lyricists. They played instruments, started out as a hardcore band before doing hip hop. They did a lot of genre bending in the 90s.

I’ll drop some Beastie Boys knowledge: -They started out as a punk band consisting of 4 members: Adam Yauch (MCA), Michael Diamond (Mike D), John Berry, and Kate Schellenbach. Adam Horowitz (Ad-Rock) started out in a seperate band called The Young And The Useless but joined in the early 80s when John Berry left. -They got into Hip Hop as it came downtown in the early 80s. Their first ever Hip Hop track is called Cooky Puss. It’s an experimental Hip Hop track featuring scratching and vocals from a prank call to an ice cream shop. There’s no rapping on the song. -They linked up with Rick Rubin because they needed a DJ to perform the song live. They were at the Negril club the night Rick Rubin and Russell Simmons met. Rick Rubin was the reason Kate was kicked out of the band because he didn’t like how women sounded rapping and the Beasties didn’t think they fit their new Rapper image. They later reconnected and made up. -Ad Rock discovered LL Cool J’s demo tape and played it for Rick Rubin, leading to LL’s signing with Def Jam. -Licensed To Ill was the first ever Hip Hop album to hit no. 1 on the Billboard 200. This was partly because they were white and more marketable to general audiences (something Russell and Rick were very aware of). However, the album still reached no. 2 on the R&B/Black Music chart, so the core Hip Hop audience still enjoyed them. -They took Public Enemy on PE’s first ever tour. It was the nationwide Licensed To Ill tour. -After they left Def Jam in 1987 due to not being paid, they moved to Capitol Records and made a classic album Paul’s Boutique. It is the most sample-heavy Hip Hop album ever and would not be possible to be made today due to sampling laws. Miles Davis called it his favorite album before his death. -Their third album Check Your Head saw them pick back up their instruments from their Punk days. Yauch plays bass, Ad Rock plays guitar, and Mike D plays drums. The album is a fusion of Hip Hop, Rock, Punk, and Funk. It advanced Rock Rap hugely. Bands like Rage Against The Machine, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, and more can be traced back to this album’s fusions. -Their fashion sense was pretty ahead of its time. They were champions of vintage/thrifting, sneaker culture, and skateboard brands very early on. There’s a photo of Yauch wearing a box logo hoodie in 1995 and he also wore a Supreme windbreaker to meet the Dalai Lama. -They are in the Rock n Roll hall of fame and were inducted by Chuck D and LL Cool J. -They created the largest benefit concert (at the time) since Live Aid with their Tibetan Freedom Concert in 1994. The bill featured Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Fugees, ATCQ, and more. -They are the highest-selling Hip Hop group. -Recently, they had a street corner in NYC named after them. It is the street corner featured in their album cover for Paul’s Boutique. MCA also had a park named after him in Brooklyn after he died in 2012 due to cancer.

They actually started out as a punk band, then became a hip-hop group. You can hear a rock sound in some of their later songs.

This gotta be the first Beasties Boys track I ever heard. My young teenage self thought the guitar riff was the most badass thing. Beasties wrote a lot of bangers in their time. P.S. Public Enemy has a song called “Party For Your Right To Fight”.

Beasties did their own beats. Guitars and drums and everything. When they got into samples with the dust brothers they really took off, following trends in hip hop at the time. Check out Ill Communication. Probably the track Sure Shot

"Putting Shame in Your Game" is a dope song that doesn't get a lot of love on KZfaq really...you guys should check it out. But Beastie Boys weren't just great hip hop artists, they were also incredible musicians...check out "Son of Neckbone" also. No lyrics, all instrumental...but really shows the versatility these guys had.

The Beastie Boys have been around forever, and it's a deep rabbit hole. If you get into the Beasties, there is a LOT for you to discover. You can't even make beats like they used to make anymore, it would cost too much to clear all the samples
