I requested this(prob with many others) but i was the guy that told you about the Motley Crue concert that these guys opened for them and no one knew who they were. 2 years later they were the biggest thing in rock. On Guns and Roses second album lies in one song they use the n word and they took the whole hell of heat off of that what many people did not realize was Slash is half black

GNR!! I was going to move you into 80's on my next list but no time like the present! Here's your scoop, love. GNR came out of California. Many on the strip saw them as just another garage band in the circuit. The was ONE man who heard them & went to Geffen & put his neck on the line time & time again to Geffen. I'll skip way forward. Important details would start with the album "Appetite for Destruction" which initially sat for a year doing nothing & was considered a failure by all accounts. It was the album cover that was too graphic & stores refused to carry. They changed the album cover & re-released. The song we should have started with is "Welcome to The Jungle". MTV didn't play it because the man who owned the a lot of the affiliates said no way on his stations. Once again, the guy (UGH, I FORGET HIS NAME) put his neck on the line & begged Geffen to call in favors to get it on. MTV gave them the worst time slot - 4am. The first day it aired the phones went insane!!!!!!! Everyone LOVED it!!!!! Skipping forward again - here's the BIG deal. Boston's album "Boston" was the biggest debut album of all time. "Appetite For Destruction" now has the title. It contains banger after banger. *Important info: - Axl Rose (Lead singer) voice has one of the most range in music. 6 Octaves. Yes, 6! That's major, Karltin! - Slash (Lead guitar) everyone puts Slash up there amongst the best guitartists. No, he not THE best but damnnnnnnn - his solos are no joke & definitely make GNR just over the top when it comes to their songs. All the members, I should mention, but they are the two to remember here at first. Where to go from here: Start with - "Welcome to the Jungle" "Sweet Child Of Mine" "November Rain" (is a masterpiece in so many ways. Buckle in for it) "Paradise City" ----- you've done "Patience" "Knocking on Heavens Door" "Mr. Brownstone" Absolutely react to the first 3!! I'll be wearing my GNR shirt listening. 🎵❤✌
