I was 8 when this song came out, my brother was 5, and our parents who were 60s, 70s, 80s rock fans exclusively. No jazz, no classical, no blues really (other than the Blues Brothers), nothing else really. We heard this song first on one of the NYC music stations they listened to, maybe 95.5 WPLJ or even possibly 104.3 krock. They were and still are very set in their ways, but even they didn't turn this to another station (our car had no CD player either) so I was like wow, must be pretty good and/or mind blowing. Still blows my mind when I hear this as an adult.

Bic Runga singing "sway" first in English then listen to her native Maori. They made a native album to promote Maori culture. Show them support and give it an airing. Some other hidden gems are Van Morrison, Days like this., Somewhere over the rainbow by Isreal Kamakawiwioli. Nightswimming by REM. Heart of glass (official video by Blondie) and Up the Junction by Squeeze.

They still play this song before comedy shows and other performances to get the crowd hyped. Aint no modern day song going to be played like that in the future.

This song was included in the OST of Pret-a-Porter movie which includes a ridiculous number of celebrities in its cast. This song is frequently associated to fashion shows and supermodels runaway catwalks

Man this was a childhood classic. You should really check out Aswad too; "Shine" and "Don't Turn Around" are songs that you'll love and they're in the same realm as this kind of music.

This was the sound of the early 90's Never will be regained as everything now is about being a club banger first with no care about the story behind the music. Bring it back stat

I've been waiting for you to do this song for so long now. The only other one I've wanted to see you react to, whenever you're doing 70s stuff again, is Parliament Funkadelic's 'Give Up The Funk'. Thanks again for this!
