Not to be contrary but I actually thought the lyrics were really straight forward and it was one of the easier songs to understand.

@@RedceLL1978 When the song came out, I didn't even pay much attention to the lyrics. It had a nice sound to it that I dug. Maybe it was easy to understand if you knew the lyrics. I knew the chorus, but I struggled to understand some of the lyrics, maybe because of the accent. Idk.

Mark Morrison is British..he was born in Hanover Germany..this was massive in 96..but it stands the test of time like all great songs..unfortunately he never had a big career which is unbelievable as he is so talented..and SMOOTH....

Stand corrected he did do time in prison but not for murder I’ll probably thinking about another artist that was in trouble around the same time but he has been in legal trouble since then he’s about 48 now

He's a citizen of the world, been all over the place. :D Born in Hannover, West Germany, to Bajan parents, he grew up in Highfields, Leicester, United Kingdom, and attended Rushey Mead School (now Rushey Mead Academy), before moving to Miami, United States. At the age of 19, he moved back to Britain.

His accent is probably a hybrid- his parents are from Barbados, he was born in Germany, but grew up in England. I remember this song but never knew who it was or the title but the hook is so memorable.

This song pops up in my head a couple times a year and requires a full dance session each time ❤️ But, yes, Mark was raised in England and Germany, but by Bajan parents, so you do get some of that diaspora influence in his voice. 🙂

This song was SOOO popular it has it's own couple's dancing style. When you see couple's do the dance to this song it's seriously impressive. I wish I could've learned that dance style.
