As a Lyft driver I picked up some people from a Jamiroquai concert in SF a couple years ago and I was like "He's still around?" and the people were like "It's like a secret club of fans". Kinda makes me think of Radiohead. All their great songs and albums coming out for decades after their one big hit and most people think they just went away long ago.

They were huge in Europe and ASIA for a long time. the band did win a Grammy for that video, but they did not find the US market to be as profitable bc of the heavy touring requirements. many US Atists have pulled from their talent. The band has been a huge influence to both Tyler the Creator and Chance the Rapper. Jay has an amazing voice and knew how to put together strong musicians.! They actually dropped a new album AUTOMATION a couple years ago when they head-lined COACHELLA. . I think “Little L” is of the best dance songs ever. Also, watch his Live concert in Verona, Italy where he does a killer version of Donna SUmmer’s , “Bad Girls”. I’m a fan, obviously - they get me moving on the treadmill when nothing else does!

I get nothing but Maroon 5 “Sunday Morning” vibes from this now, having heard both songs over the years. It’s time for Adam Levine to admit he borrowed some of this. From the singing style and tone to the piano riff, it’s pretty reminiscent.

Love that you finally did Virtual Insanity, Jamiroquai’s acid jazz! The lyrics are great too. His commentary on technology that could be detrimental to nature was prescient. “And now every mother can choose the color of her child. That’s not nature’s way.” Great song!

Jay was way ahead his time - I still play Jamiroquai to this day. The music from Pac's "Who Do U Believe In?" is from Jamiroquai "Manifest Destiny." Another underrated group is The Brand New Heavies. Their songs with N'dea Davenport are lit. My favorite is the remix for "Stay This Way." Another from them to check out is "People Get Ready."
