The live version of this song, Cry Baby, from Toronto (Festival Express) is a must watch!...She put every ounce of heart, soul, emotion and passion into her performances! Even to the point of wearing herself out, as she does in the live version of this song. Definitely "FIRE! 🔥

Janis was literally the first badass girl in rock and blues. She was the first to sing and perform in a way that was extremely provocative to an audience that have never seen something like this. ( ball and chain from monterey pop festival). Back in those days and times a girl was to be prim and proper. She was bullied a lot in her childhood. And then exploded onto the scene and shook everyone to their core. You felt every word she sang. And she meant it. Janis opened the door for many females in rock to enter the scene. My all time favourite, best female vocalist, artist, singer.

I love Janis but no. There's Aretha Patti Labelle, Houston, lots before Janis and she knew, you can hear that black soul gospel and southern blurs and rock in her singing.

Janis Joplin was a one of a kind singer with a unique voice. Sadly we lost her too soon. She was only 27 when she died. She had a lot of great songs such as "Me & Bobby McGee", "Ball & Chain", "Summertime", "Down On Me", "Maybe", "Little Girl Blue", "Try (Just A Little Bit Harder)", "Get It While You Can", "Bye, Bye Baby", "Move Over", "Mercedes Benz" etc.

She and Kris were living together when he wrote Me and Bobby McGhee, and he tried, from what I have read, to love her. She was a lost and broken little girl, and the times made it too easy to go out the way she did.

Her live performances are absolute 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. She was such a lonely soul ...😢. The guy she loved was traveling through Africa & few other countries. I think ...she thought ...he had blown her off! She hadn't heard from him in quite a while...he didn't message her until the day after she died. In a live performance she mentions how these men take off to travel & she specifically mentions Africa. After her shows...the band members would take off with there wives....girlfriends ..etc. But she would go back to a hotel room by herself. ...feeling very much alone. She OD'd on heroine at 27 years old...😢.

I have been rocking with her for almost 50 years both her and Al Green❤❤❤❤ three of my favourite songs by her trust me work me Lord and little girl Blues live on Tom Jones Show she was so incredible and so talented and passed away much too young you know one of the saddest things she ever said in my opinion was after a concert she said I just made love to 25,000 people and now I'm going home alone😢😢😢😢

My first thought was, "But Sistah Janis doesn't sing lightly for anyone! You were properly blown away, and then you caught the groove. You show good taste, young Grasshopper, and your reactions are always satisfying. By the way, at the end there? Damn, son, you are too cute! *I recommend that you listen to In the Quiet Morning by Mimi Farina, Janis' younger sister, and the best copy, I believe, is by Joan Baez. Follow the lyrics if you need to. It may sound too Pop-rock-ish, but it was written as a tribute by her little sister; think about that. A sad ending to a story too often repeated even today. I admit to having my dark, dark times, but so far, I have come out on the other side. I feel Janis . . .
