For everything in between, do any other Nightwish song! 😅😁 Also if you wanna hear her sing something totally different, check out dutch tv show beste zangers. Different dutch singers sing each other's songs or songs which are for some reason meaningful for them. It's not a competition in any way, just nice people having a good time. Totally worth checking out! Look for Floor's songs "Shallow" (yep, THAT "Shallow"!), "Winner" and "Que se siente".

When "they guy points at the crowd" -- that's Emppu. He's warning "incoming" because he's about to throw his guitar pick to someone. He keeps a bunch of them on the neck of his guitar and throws them one at a time into the audience during performances. Backstage before every event he signs several dozen of them and replenishes his stock between songs. Which is probably one of the most awesome things I've ever heard of a band doing.

You literally should just do the entire waken set list. Every song is different, awesome, and magical. Song of myself, Romanticide, Everdream are some if my favorites but there are too many favs to mention lol.

From Wacken 2013 I recommend you react to one of the heavier Nightwish songs. "Ghost River", "Song of Myself" or "Romanticide", in fact I would save Romanticide for a little bit later, but that's just me. It's a good one. In each one of those three mentioned Floor and Marko, (Flarko), are doing the vocals together. They complement each other amazingly.

You are correct. Except for the operatic part , this was a more straight forward type of song structure. If you like the longer more complex songs, check out "Song of Myself" live from Wacken 2013. Peace out!

Favourite NW song, Seven Days to the Wolves live at Wembley 2015

If you want to see more of the harder side of Nightwish, I'd recommend Song of Myself, Yours is an Empty Hope, and Romanticide--all of which feature more of Marko's very talented vocals as well. Musically speaking, Song of Myself (also from Wacken) is one of my top three Nightwish songs period, but if you want to see what Floor can really do with harsh vocals, Yours is an Empty Hope (live at Wembley) probably ought to be your next stop on the Nightwish journey.

The Poet is not to be done until you have done 10 or so songs from Nightwish. You need to know the band first. Floor is truly a special talent. To appreciate the versatility of her voice check out her performances on the Dutch tv show Beste Zangers. It is astonishing how well she can sing in all types of genres and multiple languages! I recommend searching KZfaq for "jenniezelf" . This person has put subtitles in English for the before and after chat (they all speak Dutch) It adds so much context to the performance! Enjoy!

Storytime is definitely one of my favorite Nightwish songs because of the extremely catchy melodies. I'm not sure if The Greatest Show on Earth can be called a song, but that one would be my favorite if I had to pick only a single one. As far as the reaction goes, it's always fun to hear people gushing over the band.

As previously mentioned, you really should just start with the Wacken 2013 show opener, "Dark Chest of Wonders" and then work your way through the entire 90-ish minutes of their set. The full concert is available on KZfaq in HD and it is nothing short of a masterpiece. Every song will blow you away. Then, when you are done with Wacken you should react to "Greatest Show on Earth" from Tempere. Then "Poet and the Pendulum" from Wembley.

A great reaction! All I can say is you have only barely scratched the surface of Nightwish & Floor Jansen. This lady is a godess of song. She can literally sing anything from high soprano operatic vocals to hardcore metal growls and everything in between AND all in the same song LOL You may have already heard this but Nightwish did have two other vocalists before Floor. Both ladies, Tarja and Anette, are also very accomplished vocalists in their own right. I love all three but Floor just happens to be my favourite as I find her the most entertaining to listen to. Anyway, your Nightwish journey has only just begun and I look forward to being along for the ride!

Great reaction man! I love that you are engaged in the song the whole time and still find spots to give your own reflections without it being disruptive or breaking the flow. I think it's safe to assume you're a fan by now so... welcome to the Nightwish army! ;-) Nightwish is a deep rabbit hole to fall into but it is a very enjoyable tumble. A couple of recommendations going forward would be Ever Dream and Romanticide from the same concert of Wacken 2013. However, with Nightwish you really can't go wrong so take you pick. A general advice would be to go for live performances whenever available: they know how to bring it and they always shine on stage; Wacken 2013 is a favorit by many and I think it is in large part to the sound mixing that is impeccable, but also (personal theory) this was the first concert after Floor had been offered a permanent spot in the band (though it wasn't announced until later) together with the multi instrumentalist Troy and I personally think that's why their normal energy level of 10 is ramped up to 11. And 82.000 people in the crowd didn't hurt the energy either... Anyway, I'm looking forward to following your Nightwish journey.

You can't go wrong with anything from that Wacken-concert! Absolutely mesmerizing! My favourite? "Song of myself" maybe.. There are some lovely and somber lines there which hit me... Want another favourite band? Check out japanese Band-maid. Since you're into heavier stuff, maybe "Blooming" (video), but also check out their live stuff since their performances like Nightwish are stellar!!

Floor can sing EVERYTHING! For a Dutch tv show she sang in her own native language (Dutch) and in German and Spanish. She sang in Finnish. She can sing pop, opera, metal ... no biggie. She's classically trained and is also a vocal coach.

You have so much to experience, and i'm alittle jealous tbh. I've been a fan since their first album was released, and i've never been more in love with the band than now. Floor, to me, just adds a whole different level to the ballgame. If i were to set your playlist up, i'd have you do the entire Wacken show first, just to get up to date so to speak. After that, read the entire backstory before going on to "Poet and the pendulum" (i can send you a complete backstory if you so wish) to get it's full meaning. "Greatest show on earth" is another absolutely amazing piece, though i'd probably save it for later. "Dead boys poem" is.. amazing. "Yours is an empty hope" and "Shudder before the beautiful" should be up on that playlist aswell.. Hope you enjoy!

I hope you can take us on a journey with Nightwish. Your next song to listen to should be either "Romanticide" or "Yours is an empty hope". You seem to like some growls in her voice, if you really want to hear her go full growling you should go for the latter live at Wembley Arena and pay extra attention during the chorus 😉. Also do not listen to "Poet and The Pendulum" yet, as for this song you need to have heard a few more before going into it and also some research beforehand as to understand everything that is going on during the performance. Also the same goes for "Greatest show on Earth" this also requires you to do some research beforehand and some more Nightwish knowledge before going into this 20 minute masterpiece. While studying at the Rock Academy (she was part of the first class that graduated) she felt she didn’t get the vocal tutoring she wanted so she sought ought a tutor from the classical conservatory and studied with him for a years as well while at the Rock Academy.
