I watched a video of Dimebag Darrell at a music store, doing a guitar demonstration. His playing was awesome, of course. But what struck me most, was how he was with the fans while signing things for them. No matter what they'd talk to him about, he would sincerely listen and ask them questions. Then he always put his hand out first, and thanked the fan.

All Pantera songs were recorded with Dimebag and Vinnie, Zakk and Charlie only joined the group last year as part of a reunion playing festivals and a short tour, they never recorded with Pantera

Pantera was the roughest pit I was ever in. The next time, I got a balcony seat...it took a tough girl to roll in their pits 😂 Phil never gets the respect he actually deserves. Dime usually got all the attention, of course, because he was a god. But Phil is too. "Walk", "This Love", "5 Minutes Alone", "Broken", "Drag The Waters", and "Hollow" are my suggestions.

Yes, Phil has some range! Regarding the Pantera /RatM comparison, I get what you were trying to say. Both videos had sets of fans getting wild, having fun, stage diving, crowd surfing, etc. Both had the "live" concert feel with great musicians in each band. Great reaction!

Pantera gives me chills everytime can never get enough Pantera you will find your own favourites there are so many great albums I have 6 of them and been to see them live. Phil is considered a very versatile vocalist. Over his whole career he changed his style so many times and was amazing in every one. If you want to hear how he sounded on his first album with pantera listen to death trap and if you want to hear him doing completely different vocals listen to a demo song called mirror soul Jesus by eibon. It was a black metal super group that never fully started

This was the first Pantera music video that they filmed after recording their 1st major album 'Cowboys from Hell' in 1990... it was actually their 5th album overall, but they introduced themselves to the world w/ this record. When the music video made MTV, Diamond Darrell (later Dimebag Darrell, guitar) was in the studio to introduce it live on the air... Imagine u were Darrell in a TV studio and u got ur metal idol Rob Halford calling u personally in the studio... offering Pantera a tour opening for Judas Priest 😲 The 2 collaborated on 1 track together by Halford - 'Light comes out of black' 🤘🤘🔥🔥 Strangely, when Rob Halford formed his solo band Fight in 1993, he looked like Phil from Pantera... 😁 If u buy a copy of the CD 'The best of Judas Priest - Living after midnight'... Rob Halford is wearing a Pantera t-shirt! 'Cowboys from Hell' really set the metal world on fire in 1990... Every band from Megadeth to Sepultura to Skid Row took notice and became fans of Pantera... They spent 1990/ '91 opening for Suicidal Tendencies, Exodus, Judas Priest, Prong, Wrathchild America, and Metallica... and they were truly a stellar band in concert 🤘🤘🔥🔥 By the mid-90's, heavy metal was just gone as a popular trend... but Pantera were still selling millions of records and destroying audiences in concert. Walk and Domination are always great to listen to. I used to rock out to 5 Minutes Alone and I'm Broken before my wrestling matches in HS. Had to set the mood before I started my match.

Excellent choices!! Definitely check out “Yesterday Don’t Mean Shit” from Ozzfest 2000”, “Domination” or “This Love” followed by the full version of it, because the song is much longer. There are so many Pantera, as well as Damageplan, tracks that the choices are endless. These will get you started. Take it from a guitarist!!

Pantera was definitely ahead of there time Phil's voice sounded like a cement mixer Dimes guitar just wails like a banshee and Vince and Rex's bass and drums are so in sync it's scary good

Vinnie's double bass drum introduce me into extreme drumming. I learned this song on drums. One word. THOUGH. I would love to see you react to Primal concrete sledge. Getcha' pull.🔥

RIP Dime and Vinny. I don't think Phil got the vocal accolades he deserved because his live vocals at least seem to deteriorate quickly with substance abuse. Still love him tho and Rex is a beast. But Dime and Vin were two of the best at their crafts. The world lost two greats at both of their respective passings
