Sebastian Bach has a killer voice!!!! One of the most powerful lines in this song is “That child blew a child away!”!! It’s crazy how it’s still applicable today as it was 30+ years ago! Some songs stand the test of time! This is definitely one of them!!!!

This song is a double entendre. 18 and life referring to the sentence Ricky gets for shooting his best friend but also him just being 18 and living a reckless life without thought of any consequences. When you're young you feel invincible and nothing bad will ever happen to you. You dont know better. "Your crime is time" has always been my favorite lyric of this song.

Sebastian was 19 years old whe he sang this masterpiece. The whole album is amazing.

Wasted time by Skid Row is another great song about drug addiction that is A LOT deeper than 18 and life. It hurts my soul every time I hear it because it was written about Sebastian's friend Steven Adler the drummer from Guns n' Roses.

The singer Sebastian Bach really sings his heart out on "Wasted Time". Even if it's in your own spare time, I can't say enough about that song.

The story for 18 and Life actually came from a news report in NYC. Sebastian Bach voice is great set of pipes. I’d like you to check out Wasted Time. This band, sponsored by Jon Bon Jovi and toured with Guns N Roses. Sebastian and Steven Adler, original drummer for GNR, were the youngest in the perspective bands and sort of gravitated in to bff situation. Both young, both talented, both blonde, both incredible good looking. Now they have fame, money, women and a party life style. Sebastian got married and started a family at a very young age of 24. Steven, kept the party going. Serious heroin addict. Everyone tried to help, warned, intervened but he was so gone. Lost that gig with GNR. Tried it on his own but in 1996, after doing a potent speedball (coke/heroin cocktail) at age 31, he suffered a stroke, leaving the left side of his face paralyzed. Steven did a celebrity rehab reality show where violence and suicidal tendencies were evident and upon release to a sober house got stoned on the ride from rehab to sober house where he was turned away. Eventually I think he is mostly clean now and occasionally will guest appear with GNR but his success was marred by addiction. Skid Row’s song, Wasted Time is an ode to their friend Steven Adler. It’s powerful and showcases Sebastian’s talent and love for his friend. BTW…. I’m an old lady, young only in my mind and I enjoy your KZfaq channel ever day! Sebastiam is the prettiest guy in rock. A beautuful man. I love this song. Still relevant and that last couple of notes blows me away every time. If you haven't done I remember you yet, it's a must. Our generation carries these messages to today.

youth gone wild also has a strong message besides being a banger. You can tell by the aggressive Hard Rock time of the song that it struck a chord with many youth back in the day on the angst of those considered the problem child whose lives are put on trial by others who judge them. Every generation of youth has the issue of being compared to those who came before.

You guys need to go down the Skid Row rabbit hole. Sebastian Bach is one of the greatest metal singers of all-time. His vocals are powerful and emotional. I recommend “Darkened Room”, “Quicksand Jesus”, Monkey Business”, “Slave to the Grind”, and “Wasted Time.” All these are on the same album, and all were hits in the rock genre. I was not really a fan of Skid Row until I saw them open for G n R back in the day. They were very impressive live - especially Bach.

This a great story song about a young and dumb kid who gets wild and kills his only real friend. He pays the price with a life sentence at 18. You have this amazing band in Skid Row with Sebastian Bach doing those vocals that make you get the chills. Enjoy this great late 80s masterpiece.

Skid Row was formed in New Jersey, but it was the addition of Canadian vocalist Sebastian Bach that made them truly special... w/ Dave 'Snake' Sabo & Scotti Hill (guitars), Rachel Bolan (bass) & Rob Affuso (drums) ... They signed a management contract w/ Bon Jovi that got their first album released in 1989... The self-titled debut was a hit on MTV, in the era of bands like Guns N' Roses... it sold 5 million copies in the US. The band went harder on the 2nd album 'Slave to the grind' in 1991 and it hit #1 on the US charts and sold 2 million copies. However, Skid Row's contract basically signed off all their royalties for the first 3 records to promote the band... and Skid Row had sold millions of records, but were not making substantial $$$. The bitterness within caused tensions w/ singer Sebastian Bach... A 3rd Skid Row album 'Subhuman race' was released in 1995, but sold far less... just as the contract was ending. In 1996, a disagreement between Bach & Rachel Bolan resulted in Sebastian Bach being fired from Skid Row. Sebastian Bach would start a solo career by 1999. In 2000, Skid Row reunited without Bach or drummer Rob Affuso... vocalist Johnny Solinger was hired and a 4th album 'Thickskin' was a disappointment in 2003. A 5th album 'Revolutions per minute' also failed commercially. Skid Row recorded 2 EP's titled 'United rebellion' (Pt. 1 & 2) in 2013 & 2014... However, in 2015, vocalist Johnny Solinger was fired; he passed away in 2021. Skid Row have been touring w/ former Dragonforce vocalist Z.P. Theart as of recently.

I've head that the background of this song is real news story in a local newspaper where 18-year-old boy had shot his friend with a gun, thinking the gun was not loaded, and apparently had also shot his father, and was sentenced to life imprisonment. Usually a person like this who ends up on the street ends up with various criminal gangs, as happened with Nicky Cruz who was the leader of the infamous Mau Mau gang, today he is a preacher to prove how he got free

One of my favorite songs since it came out in 89 when I was 4 years old

Years ago, My brother went & seen Skid Row. He was in the front, right in front Skid Row. Well, theirs idiots in every crowd! One idiot decided to throw som kind of small explosive on stage. It exploded right there by my brother. Skid Row stopped the concert ambulances came. There were 10 people including my brother, that got hurt. No one severely but still. Skid Row gave all 10 tickets to every show on the tour & passes for them to hang with them backstage! It was even in the newspaper with the picture of the 10 & smoke around them. My mom still has the newspaper showing my brother & the others right after the bomb! Why some people want to ruin it for everyone I'll never know! But my brother was okay & very happy how it turned out afterwards! He had a ball!!

This is Epic Sabastian Bach My absolute favourite voice of that era, I was only 10 but this we were listening to Well into the 90's when I was a teen!! Still to this day my favourite!! You guys have to do "I Remember You" their other massive hit off that album!!

Check out Byzantine Soul Eraser. They are signed to metal blade records. They are heavy but the message is about the opiate and heroin problem in our country. The drummer, Matt Wolfe, passed away in December due to health issues from addiction. They are all friends of mine and Matt was a very close friend. The message is a warning and is deep. RIP Matt.
