It's about a woman he knows and cares about who is struggling with addiction. She smiles when the pain comes... heroin. The hair in her pocket from a little boy. Tells me she keeps it because she lost him, taken away or passed away, probably why she's in the state she's in. I'm guessing from the lyrics. I used to play this song when I had a bad day in order to not feel sorry for myself. ❤️

Nailed it. The pain is the needle, but it brings relief via heroin. Numbs her to her emotional pain. Pulls shades tight, to block reality. I understand MORE then I wish I did... This guts my soul...

Very few bands can sound better in concert than in the studio. This performance was astonishing.

Your subscribers give you some of the most amazing bands and songs ever written. Another one that I know you guys would absolutely love is "Remedy" by the Black Crowes. It's the Blues Rock that you guys seems to really be drawn to.

Seeing things for the first time live is amazing, everything they do. True story, they werent bookeable as an opening act because they were better act live than the main artist . Ive seen them, one-of-a-kind, an oh fuxk moment

This song supposedly inspired Darius Rucker to write 'Let Her Cry.' An extremely famous song for his group, Hootie and the Blowfish.

I used to get so pissed off when I would go to concerts, spend big money, all to be disappointed in the live performances. There are only a handful of classic artists that can do AS GOOD or BETTER at a live performance. This is another example of losing SO MUCH from the studio cut. For newbies to the older ways of recording music, the studio is the perfect environment. Acoustically perfect room, their best instrument, mics placed in the perfect spots. Then doing takes. Who knows how many takes a band will do in order to call it THE ONE. THE ONE best one in their opinion. Then back then they would do some editing and effects and in the end create the "perfect recording" for that song. (Side note: the song Turn, Turn, Turn by the Byrds had 70 TAKES over 2 days to capture because the "band" wanted to do the music for at least 1 of the 8 songs on the album. The Wrecking Crew did all other 7 songs in a half day studio session) (So with that you can see how hard it would be for a band to "Nail It" every time at a live show) Then if it was a hit, THAT version made it to the radio. The trouble is that most bands will incorporate extra studio musicians, true pro's to do the difficult work because in many cases especially in the 50's and 60's the band members did not play that well on their own. I would point you to a documentary called "The Wrecking Crew" to learn about how the music industry has played out from the beginnings of Rock and Roll. In addition my OPINION is that if you are really wanting to experience all of this music that is new to you, then start with the studio/radio play cuts. Then check out a live video. Know what to compare it to. If you really don't care that much then take all of this advice and toss it in the crapper LOL. Keep up the good work guys.
