I am an Afghan and I speak Persian (Farsi). For those who don't speak Persian, the lyrics (poem) is from the greatest of all Persian Poets, Hafiz and beautifully done by Mohsen Namjoo. 'Zolf' which means 'Hair' is very meaningful and famous poem in Persian speaking countries. I personally getting a kind of goose bump every time I listen to this song. Not to say that have listened hundreds of times already and will never get tired of. Amazing

Here is the lyric: Don’t let your hair with the wind blow, Else to the wind, caution I’ll throw. Don’t let foundations elegantly grow, Else my foundation will dissolve and go. Choose where you bestow thy grace, Else I’ll wallow in disgrace. When you are present in every place, Every place, my protests will face. The locks of your hair are curled like a chain, Enslaved to those locks, in chain I remain. When with your curls you entertain, Your curls will only drive me insane. Strangers do not befriend, Else I might be lost in the trend. Let not my rivals on you depend, This makes me sad, and will offend. Let your face color, your cheeks blush, Your beauty, the rose bud, aside brush; Let your stature rise up tall and lush, And the tallest cedars simply crush. Don’t become every room’s candle flame, Else my flames of jealousy can’t tame. Don’t treat every people the same, So that you may not forget my name. Don’t become known to all in this town, Else I’ll find the ocean, myself drown. Don’t keep me distant with your frown, Else I’ll tear to threads my shirt and gown. Have mercy upon me and compassion, Else hear the infamy of my passion. Hafiz will embrace your oppression, Was freed since enslaved in this fashion

He is a creative musician and also he has the Avangard capabilities. In addition from my point of view he is brave to use his voice as an instrument, using different instruments in performances and mixing of different rhythms and gender. Furthermore, if you explore in his albums, you will realize that he is following for his passion instead of many other singers which is looking for satisfaction their audience

Zolf is a poem by the 14th-century Iranian poet *Hafiz.* The ending of the poem says *"Since enslave by your love, I've become free"* Don’t let your hair with the wind blow, Else to the wind, caution I’ll throw. Don’t become known to all in this town, Else I’ll find the ocean, myself drown. Don’t keep me distant with your frown, Else I’ll tear to threads my shirt and gown. Have mercy upon me and compassion, Else hear the infamy of my passion. There are so many connotations in the lyrics, that rhyme perfectly with his style of music, and I should add the cultural value of this particular poet, Hafez, for all Iranians. Namjoo is amazing in choosing the words. He is so intelligent and his music is very visual which adds to the poetry most of the times. I like the original version of this song, Zolf, and am not very fond of the concert version. I also suggest another song by him, called Toranj, also the original version.

The encounter between Shirin and Farhad is part of a longer and much more tragic love story of Shirin and Khusrow. You know as a Namjoo fan let me explain sth, he said once in an interview that I imitate sound from instruments for a reason not for fun, he says his mean is that I as a vocalist am a piece in what you are hearing, I'm one of those and its somehow wrong to put your emphasis on me and neglect the instruments and their players effect. He does this in some other songs of him.

this song poetry belongs to HAFEZ and translation is : Don’t let your hair with the wind blow, Else to the wind, caution I’ll throw. Hafiz will embrace your oppression, Was freed since enslaved in this fashion.

Lyrics of song Mohsen Namjoo - Zolf Don't blow on the wind until you blow on the almond Do not lay the foundation until you do not lay the foundation Do not go to the mountain until the ninth Sweet passion, don't do it, Farhad I eat with everyone until I eat liver blood I shouted to the sky so that it would not suck Do not loop the zipper so that you do not close it Do not swing until you hit the wind Make a face when you graduate from the glam leaf Be tall enough to be free to serve Do not be a foreign friend until you are a relative of mine Do not be sad, do not be sad Do not loop the zipper so that you do not close it Do not swing until you hit the wind

Can you imagine a caravan of camels with bells hanging around their neck as they lumber on a well-worn ancient road? That's what it reminds me of.

For those of you who dont know what he's repeating at the beginning: He's repeating the word "Del" which means "Heart". The repetition of that word here is like talking to your own heart and saying "you poor heart". Something like that.
