What a rabbit hole you have found. You are both going to be mesmerised by Dimash every song he does, He sings all genres just perfectly, from opera to rap in about 14 different languages. This was only released two days ago so you have arrived at his latest performance. You are going to be very busy discovering a man with a six octave range and one of the nicest people on the planet. He is wonderful in every way. I am 79 years old and only ever been to one concert in my life and that was a Dimash concert in Kuala Lumpur last June. Great reaction, you two; enjoy your Dimash journey - it is a very long one - destination unknown!!

Dimash has been studying music since he was 5 years old. He has a master's degree in composition and is working on his doctorate in musicology. Considered by his teachers to have absolute pitch. He handles all vocal techniques and has absolute control of his voice and breathing. His vocal range goes from baritone to soprano. Multi-instrumentalist, singer and composer. So far we have heard him sing on stage in 13 languages: Kazakh, Russian, Chinese (Mandarin), Italian, English, French, Ukrainian, Turkish, Serbian, Kyrgyz, Japanese, Spanish, Armenian. Offstage in Arabic and German. The most versatile I know and has songs from different genres, from opera to rap. In addition, he is a great performer, unmatched when it comes to transmitting emotions and feelings in his songs and videos. Don't worry, they'll learn on the way 😅 I mean, honestly, when someone hasn't heard Dimash singing, with his all spectrum, HOW do you expect that person to understand, when all isn't shown? Please get down from the high besserwisser manners, give the kids a chance. They picked the latest song, like young people often do, to check out the current status. They got Dimash's 'current' status, but far from all, which they didn't know. WHY is it so important that all people start with SOS? Let them take their time, and work themselves up to SOS, Ave Maria, Stranger etc. Now I happen to know they'll watch SOS after this, but I haven't seen it yet. Anyway, chill down. No one can know, when not learned. If you want to be surprised, give a TRUE first time reaction, blank, Google and Wiki can wait.

That's a great starting song for dimash. As an American I hope he does more stuff like this simply because it's more "normy" friendly, and I think will be easy to use to introduce him to people who may not like or appreciate his usually much more operatic style. If you want a good contrast in styles check out olimpico, this dude has full command of any vocal thing he wants to do, he does basically every style of music except "country" and I'm sure he could.

Keep going, keep going!!! If this is for first Dimash, you have missed so much. He can do ANY style and this song is fun, but not even close to his vocal talent or range. Always different and always a surprise with Dimash. SOS, Stranger, Ikainide, gosh, so many. What first made him get internationally noticed though was a show in China called I Singer. Start there, and then enjoy going down the rabbit hole!

People who are new are going to think this is a stretch but Dimash is probably the best vocalists alive right now maybe ever.. I don't know anyone who has the range Dimash does...he likes to blend many genres together taking his training with opera and classical music and putting those elements into Pop and R&B jazzy type music, he also likes to add traditional Kazakh instrumentals in some if his music and he's incredibly humble at 29 the song that made him viral was probably S.O.S he sang it on an Chinese singing competition

I recommend you watch his MV 'The Story Of One Sky'. Dimash worked for three years on this composition while working on other songs and concerts. He is also the scriptwriter of the MV, a high-quality video production that cost 7 million dollars. 300 people worked on this MV, more than 100 between orchestra and choirs. A video with a strong and necessary message for everyone, it is a masterpiece. With what we are seeing these days it seems that humanity is dehumanized. The world could use many more Dimash. Everyone should watch this video and be aware. That was Dimash's goal when he did it.

Welcome to the world of Dimash! Unfortunately you probably started in reverse in terms of his evolution into the artist he is today, you're in for a roller coaster if you choose to stay on it! This song is amazing and shows how much Dimash has matured and is also stretching into new genres and musical styles. He has done poppy stuff before (see the music video for Screaming and also Be Wth Me), but much of what he has done in his early career some call "popera", he often brings in classical aspects into his songs. The joke has been that he must not be human but an alien, this video shows us that he's actually been a vampire all along, and that sort of makes sense now. ;-) You're in for a blast with Dimash!

What an introduction to the world of Dimash! He won several regional competitions before blowing up overnight in 2017 on China's "Singer" competition with his performance of S.O.S. He spoke Khazak and Russian at the time, but has since learned some English and Mandarin. He sings in multiple languages, last count 16. His fan base were named "Dears" by Dimash. I'm sure others will give you song suggestions and fill you in on his details.

BRAZIL - Greetings, Dimash really is unique in his style, do you know why?? He sings countless varied musical genres, not just one, this already differentiates him and of course, his magnificent voice and vocal range, which leads him to sing from bass-baritone, Tenor, Mezzo-Soprano to Soprano, but adding sincere emotion, singing and telling a story, on stage his shyness gives way to a hurricane, and he becomes a showman, with such friendliness and humility towards everyone, always down to earth, never letting stardom make him arrogant, he works and breathes music, great creativity, growing and evolving due to his talent and work, making music a great art today.

This song doesn't show his range AT ALL, believe it or not.... The songs "Stranger" and "SOS" (you should go with the Digital Show - version!) does a much better job at that! 😅 Many vocal coaches holds him as the "best" vocalist in the world actually ( !! ). In the video, She was not dreaming, she interviewed him, and she was the unknown reporter. Second, you are right, Dimash has it all, all musical styles, and a huge vocal range. He is a singer, composer, musician, producer, director, and more than that, Dimash is a wonderful human being.

You'll be shocked as you go down the Dimash rabbit hole... His vocal genres and skills quite literally crosses the full spectrum of styles, from heavy rock to full classical and operatic (and he's a master vocalist in every one)... Probably the best next song choice (since you began with his pop/rock style song as a first time introduction) would be "STRANGER" -- it will really blow your mind as you begin to see how much further his voice actually goes (and even it's not his full range yet), and you'll hear touches of some of the different genres of music he combines into a single vocal performance. You need to watch: Ikanaide, Stranger, Love is like a Dream, Ulisse, Unforgettable Day (the Gakku version when he hits a D8 with vibrato and sustained for five seconds). To begin with, there are many more.

You need to listen to more of Dimash, He is the greatest singer in the world. He has crossed genres , he has this unique voice, This song is R&B, soul, pop, opera ect. He does it all. That solo guitar is amazing. I'm glad you finally listened to him. He has a musical background since childhood. Songs, Under One Sky, Passion, SOS, Scream, oh so many. Olympico. and his concerts. Glad you liked him.

Thank you for your reaction. ❤ Interesting that you detected all those influences in this latest song, which is in yet another new style in his palette. I was laughing when you mentioned range, because this is nothing at all for him. He can sing way lower and way higher in any style from opera to rap, often mixing and matching them in a single song, or a single line. That’s why we Dears (what Dimash calls his fans) always await any new release with bated breath, because we never know what the next chocolate will contain. Speaking of travel: you might want to attend Dimash’s next concert in Budapest on May 4 (hurry, cause tickets are almost sold out), or the one after in Istanbul in May 24, which promises to be special because it will be his 30th birthday. I visited twice Kazakhstan because of his concerts and they’ve been unforgettable! Please continue reacting to Dimash. Two good songs which are intros to his versatility are: « SOS d’un terrien en détresse » and « Stranger ».

You get the wide range in almost every performance, but he sings in more than 15 languages including Chinese and Japanese. This was obviously different from everything else. He woke up as a super star after performing "S.O.S." on a Chinese talent competition called "The Singer" in 2017, so I think that's the best place to start. Just a week or so ago he released a quieter song, "Omir," with his 17-year-old brother Mansur on guitar while he played piano and sang. He plays at least 7 instruments, but mostly sings while someone else plays. He composed the vampire song, but usually doesn't write the lyrics due to his not quite fluent English. We fans are his Dears, and we'd love you to react to some more very soon. He also recently performed opera with Placedo Domingo, a lifelong dream of his.

Loved your reaction guys ! Dimash is like no other singer on earth ! He can sing anything ,from opera to rap ,blues ,jazz, rock literally anything . The song that made him famous is SOS ,he sang this when he was 22 years old in China as a specially invited singer ,the youngest ever to compete there ,all well known Chinese singers .This was “I am A Singer” ,show 2017 check it out please .

Dimash has millions of fans all over the world, including the US. There are fans from 60 or more countries at his concerts. Dimash is classically trained. He has his Masters and working towards his PHD. He combines all genres of music in one song and sings any genre including rap. Another fun video is Be With Me. Other suggestions are Stranger(New Wave), All By Myself(New York concert), the first song I ever heard him sing in 2017, Adgio. He was asked to participate in singing competition in China. It was for professional singers of all ages. Dimash was 22, the youngest to ever be on the show. He was also the first non Chinese to take part. He had to sing first in round one. No one knew who he was. He wasn’t a professional singer, just a boy from who had won many singing contests in his country. He sang the song SOS. It’s a French song. Dimash doesn’t speak French. He was on a Chinese show and didn’t speak a word of Chinese. He won the first round and literally overnight, his world changed. He came in second at the end of the contest. His fans, who he calls Dears, have fan clubs all over the world. He doesn’t sing the bubblegum music we hear on the radio in the US. Hopefully people in the US and other countries will open their ears and hear this phenomenon. There is no other singer who can do what he does. Give him a chance. You seem to have appreciated the talent in this video. Everything he does is different. Have fun.

He's actually holding back on vocal tricks on this as it's aimed at a commercial audience (he's not broken out in the US yet, although he's spening a lot more time in LA). Believe me, he can do some really amazing things with his voice. The song that caused him to break seriously outside Kazakhstan and the Russophone countries was SOS - D'un terrien en detresse (a French song from the rock opera 'Starmania' that he performed in Round 1 of a Chinese show called Singer 2017). Almost anything you get recommended will be worth watching.
