Girls Generation is basically the blueprint for girl groups, even Blackpink was supposed to have 9 members. Girls Generation's debut song (Into The New World) was literally sung at protests and this song (Gee) basically began the craze for the cute concept. She is also currently active in a the Chicago stage play in Korea and she is going to be a mentor woth Sunmi on Girls Planet 999. Hyoyeon - she literally is the dancing queen. She broke the stereotype that female idols could only dance a certain way and she is very well respected. She has solo songs and is also a successful DJ as well going under the title DJ Hyo. Sooyoung, Yuri, Yoona, and Seohyun have all released solo music and are all pursuing successful acting careers in movies and kdramas as well. Sunny - she is the member I know the least about when it comes to what shr is up to unfortunately. Jessica - she launched her own fashion brand and is very successfully managing her company. She has released solo music too and she recently wrote a young adult fiction book. Taeyeon - I need not say much about her you guys have seen her versatility and power. She is having a comeback in July. Let me put GG into context. They have consistently remained within the top 15 girl group brand rankings even though they haven't released anything since 2018. SNSD is called the Nations girl group for good reason. That is not to say other girl groups like 2ne1 were not responsible for paving the way as well.

Funfact : Taeyeon hated gee so much that when she heard it, she cried 😂 but the songs she didn't like always ended up doing very well, gee swept the nation and set a record for number of weeks it placed first on the charts. I highly recommend you guys to watch you think and all night MV

Besides taeyon some of them have solo too, like hyoyeon/hyo & yoona. Most of them also active on musical theaters and korean drama/movies.

Taeyeon is the most famous soloist but other members have solo careers as well. Some are still in sm others aren't but they're all pretty popular in korea because girls generation was the biggest gg in the country for so many years

the smiles on your faces when you were watching 😂 same, this vid never ceases to make me smile. this song has definitely aged but it's a kpop classic, and actually everyone in this group is famous in their own right which is interesting. it's very much the same as shinee where most of them have their own unique jobs outside of the group. taeyeon's thing is solo albums as are seohyun and tiffany, seohyun's also an actress, yoona is an actress, jessica (former member) is a model and brand ambassador...they do a lot 🤣🤣

OMG SNSD! I've been a sone since this era. This song is sooo iconic. Looong before Blackpink and BTS took over the world, SNSD were the queens and at the top of the game! :) Now they are currently on hiatus and focus on their individual activities. Can't blame them, they've been in the industry for over 14 years. :) They are trully a legend of the 2nd kpop generation. They cover a wide spectrum of the entertainment world whether be Singing, acting, musical theater, MC, Variety shows, DJ, Radio Personal, etc.. They are all household names. Taeyeon is mostly active in the music scene unlike the others. But if you want their solo music career check out the other 3 who're active... Tiffany Young and Jessica Jung are both soloists in the USA. Then Hyoyeon/HYO is promoting in Korea. The maknae line are all successful actress Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona and Seohyun. Then we have Sunny who's a successful musical actress, radio personal and Variety Queen. All the vocal line have been in at least one musical.
