@@timp575 I recommend The The's Mind Bomb and Dusk - he plays some on both (although both those albums are fairly old) ... Billy Bragg's Don't Try This at Home has a couple Marr tracks (he produced Cindy of a Thousand Lives and what a sonic masterpiece that sing is - especially if you're familiar with Bragg's early work). My 18-year-old daughter loves his work with Modest Mouse too

@@timp575 After they had a toxic divorce Johnny Marr worked a lot with the Pet Shop Boys and tried to set up a band with them. Cant remember the name now but I think Mark Almond was involved in nit too. If you want to listen to a 1990 masterpiece intstrumental by Marr's guitar i would suggest you to listen to the song My October's Simphony in the album Behaviour by the Pet Shop Boys. It is one of his last masterpieces together with Chris Lowe and the guitar that sounds in the background is Jonny Marr's part.

I think a lot of Smiths / Morrisey songs were relatable to the right age group. "How soon is now" in particular for me when he sings about going to the club and leaving alone and wanting to die. We all had those nights out! What difference does it make was another great song.
@mikecaetano

You gotta check out The Cure "Lovesong" now. When you're ready for more from The Smiths, check out "Bigmouth Strikes Again", "What Difference Does It Make", "This Charming Man", "Still Ill", "This Night Has Opened My Eyes" and "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want" -- a song that makes time stand still so that two minutes feel like five minutes but in a good way.
@g3g.931
@g3g.931 Жыл бұрын
I agree wholeheartedly with your Smiths suggestions ... What Difference Does it Make was the song that sold me on the band. Rubber Ring & Well I wonder fantastically illustrate Marr's genius ... Andy Rourke kills it on This Night Has Opened My Eyes. I also loved Marr's work with The The and Billy Bragg!

Wow! Great reaction. It's so good to see someone hearing The Smiths for the first time, and this just proves that The Smiths and Morrissey are not "depressing" as people like to label them (or him). This song is uplifting and it shows how Morrissey would deal with those dark and difficult feelings like despair and loneliness with a sense humour and optimism. Thank you to whomever requested this song for a reaction, and please please please do more Smiths and Morrissey. New subscriber from Australia!
