Right? The only valid backseating is when the player misunderstands or forgets something that the game expects them to know/understand, AND it's resulting in a frustrating/bad time for the player. The amount of people who want to spoil the whole point of a blind playthrough by turning it into an expert speedrhn is insufferable

"dude this is legitimately scary" I started playing for real right around the same time you did. I had like 4 hours of experience before that a few years ago, so I knew about mining and mobs but not much more. THIS GAME SCARED THE PISS OUT OF ME. Legit the scariest game I've played in years. There is nothing worse than being out in the open, and you're just walking around.. all of a sudden you hear a hissing sound, and BOOM. Even all these months later I hate the attack children, and the tall skinny deliver man, and the hordes of zombies. Terrifying, forever.

It's fun seeing a new persective on the game. This playthrough is full of small things that a new player would naturally assume - such as with the campfire which Oliver correctly assumed would cook his raw food even if he didn't know the exact mechanics and history of the game (having no such block for many years and players having the meta-knowledge that the furnace is the all-purpose block for cooking and smelting). Another funny thing I noticed is how Oliver tried accessing his first Crafting Table; it's an early-enough item that the player might not know that right-click is the interact button so he used his knowledge gained so far and opened his inventory right next to it instead; thinking it would expand or unlock a new feature in the inventory, rather than containing its own UI - an interesting idea if Mojang were to ever change how interacting with crafting stations work.

@theamazingwam7998
@theamazingwam7998 Ай бұрын
@@Llamu Exactly what I'm saying, the game gives no instruction for even such simple and basic interaction. It's quite logical to think that 'E' is the interact button because that is the case in the other games, plus RMB is used for placing blocks so it's not immediately apparent that RMB also interacts with them; you might be led to believe that RMB only places blocks.

As slow going as it is, he actually intuitively figures things out without assistance pretty quick. Zombies die in sunlight, but are ok in shade. Sun rises in the east. Wandering trader has 2 lammas with leads, that they drop if they die. Rotten flesh causes hunger, but still regens health. Gold tools are trash because gold itself is too soft. Most newbs with chat on who ask for no assistance, still get a ton of trivial information that he's managing to piece together solo, relatively quickly. I'm gonna subscribe. I want more of this please. I'm not a gamer, but I played a decent bit of this one game. The range of simplicity to complexity is potentially the widest gap across any survival game, and anyone can find enjoyment from it at any point in that spectrum.

I never thought i would shed tears for a minecraft playthrough, let alone be entertained by one once again. The sheer bliss i felt by rediscovering the game by the eyes of a first timer again is an experience i didn't have in my bucket list for this week, or month. This vod really encapsulated, not what i felt watching my first playthroughs of the game, and my first playthroughs alltogether, but my first time playing the game. Even seeing some similarities in the progression or thought process, slightly changed by the newer additions or simply different way of approaching the vast posibilities of such a game filled with freedom. The ones that struck most with me were building a fence, thinking it's an impenetrable defense and then getting proven wrong by a spider, thus learning the importance of roofs, and then reaching a village and saying "man... my house sucks..." and getting inspired to do better. I actually want to point out, that you, playing this game BLINDLY is incredibly rare by itself, almost everyone who grew up playing minecraft knows the game like it's common knowledge; it's something so unlikely and rare this playthrough and vods must be cherished and protected at all costs! x) Thank you for this, i enjoyed this first episode immensely. And i'm sure this will make as my comfort series for a while :)

I really enjoy your let’s plays because I think you have great deductive reasoning and critical thinking skills. It made your Outer Wilds playthrough a treat to watch (on top of your astrophysicist insight lol), and it’s making your Minecraft experience fun also ^_^

I’m in disbelief that someone could blind play minecraft at 2023 It reminds me of when I found out about minecraft PE and played it on an ipod touch so manny years ago. I was so exited whenever there was an update, and I remember the nether reactor block and glowing obsidian and how crazy it was to discover. Edit: “world” has an extremely unlucky looking spawn LOL Edit: Minecraft Dungeons players: “I have a stick I’m equipt for combat” \*1 shot’s a boss\*

I like that “A skeleton shot me and my soul left my body” is a universal experience. Hate those bastards. Also watching you make a pier put the biggest smile on me face. You’re doing it! You’re building something for form over function! :D

Minecraft is a game that's almost impossible to find blind playthroughs of because it used to be completely impenetrable by not having any kind of in-game crafting list. Playing with a wiki open on another monitor basically became the de facto "correct" way to play. It's really interesting to see where the game succeeds and fails at being a self-contained experience.

This is so refreshing. Coming from a player since early alpha versions, the game is VERY different now, but the joys and fears of a new player are still clearly the same. Keep going !
