We did take advantage didn't we. We were surrounded by virtuosos and we didn't even know it. We could pick an choose from a plethora of amazing music. That seemed all to ordinary at the time.

The Midnight Special was one of the very few places you could see live music on TV. Came on at 12 midnight on Saturday. Saturday was a good day for TV cartoons in the morning and Live music at night.

Always loved this version as the viewers got to see how much fun Peter had playing... one look at his face & ya knew he was REALLY into the song. Not to mention seeing him playing "The Phenix" - his iconic 50's triple pickup Les Paul guitar (before the plane crash & it's disappearance for decades) This song was one of the first & biggest selling boosts for the TalkBox pedal

I worked at one of his shows back in 1996. Got to sit on the edge of the stage right in front of him during his soundcheck. Super nice guy, hung out with him for a bit after his set, and me and his bass player hung out watching the other acts after. Great experience.

Peter Frampton was (and still is) a guitar god...and this is a SHORTENED version for Midnight Special (without Bob Mayo's (RIP)incredible keyboard solo). Here's the entire song, extended, live at the Oakland Coliseum as featured on his album "Frampton Comes Alive" (all 24+ minutes of it). It Spent 97 weeks on the Billboard Top 100 chart and went 8X Platinum in US sales alone: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nJebnpOJmdDRcYU.html

I recall reading somewhere , that Peter Loved Bob Mayo's Playing so much , that's why he says his name twice , "On the Keyboards , Bob Mayo ... Bob Mayo !" as it's recorded on the Frampton Comes Alive album after his solo in "Do You Feel Like We Do" but he also did this at every show . 🙂
