Sergio Ramos was a beast. Gladiator. He also tended to play dirty a lot, that's why they say as a joke the UFC fighter. Got sent off many times. But the best defender of my time, maybe off all time. I've never really seen Maldini

They mostly play on grass pitches some turf pitches but they are sprinkled with water so the ball moves around better and sliding doesn't cause too much burn.
