She belted high notes, she added vibrato, emotion in her singing. She did all this while sitting down on a box. Vocalists are encouraged to always stand up as sitting down makes it harder to engage and strains the throat and diaphragm. She deserved the win and I'm still salty that she was robbed.

Surprised you didn't like it. The song was very popular in Europe and Australia: went Platinum in Australia and Gold in Sweden and charted in many countries which is rare for a Eurovision song. She's also been complimented by several Eurovision legends such as Alexander Rybak who called her hands down the best voice he had ever heard at Eurovision and Bjorn of ABBA called her a fantastic singer. Maybe you should listen again.

I was at this Eurovision in Stockholm in 2016 and Dami was staying in the same hotel as me - a great contest and she’s a really lovely lady!

Dami is Australian, migrating with her family from South Korea as a child. Dami has a degree in Music in Classical Piano and Voice. She's a very talented musician and previously won X Factor Australia. Dami's mother is an Opera singer.

Its not the most exciting eurovision song, but her performance was what made it stand out. Eurovision songs are usually repetitive, in part because they are only allowed 3 mins. And in a competition of 40 songs it has to to have an immediate impact for a TV viewer at home to pick up the phone and vote.

Could you react to Jamala 1944 song ? winner of eurovision that same year (if i'm right). It's a wonderful music, very different from the usual eurovision songs.

Well she came 2nd in Eurovision, with Australia's 2nd year at Eurovision, the first was 2016 by invitation, with Guy Sebastian, and he came 5th. Most people love this song. John Farnham sings a song called "The voice" with the Melbourne Symphony orchestra, his best version, and it is epic, it has some repetitive aspects, but it's an anthem, so repetition is sometimes what works with some song's.

How she lost to Jamala is still a mystery too me as this is hands down a far superior song to the Ukrainian entry. All I can think is that because it is an Australian entry it could not win as the show cannot be staged in a different timezone. Simple solution, if Australia wins then a European country hosts the show and Australia pay for it

Dami got robbed. She won the music experts vote by more than 100 points. Like 320 to 211 for 2nd place I believe. (An absolute landslide) But because Australia has no neighbors in the competition she fared way lower than she deserved in the public vote and came second. It’s hard to be upset since Australia probably has no place competing in this competition. But the fact still remains, she smashed it and was by far the best performance in the competition that year

Polished and technically well sung but left me completely indifferent.. very cool and just belting belting… on top the Verses are not memorable at all… so ain’t the Bridge… the year was not mine… didn’t like any of the top songs…
