A little bit about me..
Rebecca is a passionate Singer-Songwriter/Vocal coach/mentor /impressionist/photographer/creative junkie /self- development lover not a hater.
“I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well, maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2016. However, despite not being able to walk for a few weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and try to practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…we are all specks of dust…Also, thank you for all your support. It means a lot. I have suffered from anxiety from the past and self-confidence, (yeah hard to see now right) didn’t think I was ‘good, or worthy enough’ but I feel I have a new lease of life, don’t really care as much and want to show you guys what I have! : ) You are all awesome and without you, there would be no channel.

Dami graduated from Griffiths University and the Queensland Conservatorium of Music with Honours and Distinction in Classical Piano, Violin and Flute and a Masters Degree in Voice. Dami is a musical genius.

What I love about this performance is the amount of incredible adlibbing that Dami does. Normally at Eurovision, artists try to stick close to their recorded version, most likely because they only have three minutes and want to represent the song in the most definitive way possible. But not Dami. She knows that people have heard the recording, she knows what she can do, so she says screw the “official” melody and just GOES FOR IT. And because she’s such a good singer, it makes the performance stand out that much more. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Our Aussie girl Dami! Amazing voice. You should see how she started on X factor, definitely not the stunningly styled Dami she became, but the voice was out of this world. Dani Minogue was her coach and get her into amazing dresses

ikr, i've been watching the Xfactor Au since 2k12(that year was also good one)... i remember how she forgot the lyrics and messed up at the bootcamps and the fact she was called later cause there was a good country singer who could not be in the Judge's Houses... she is truly amazing :)

No, Ukraine was. There was something more important going on in Europe at that time. Russia invaded Krim and the public atmosphere was heavily influenced by that. The song from Ukraine touched people's hearts on a deeper level. Europe has been involved and teared apart by war in the last century. It lies in our common conscious. Eurovision has had the purpose of binding countries together throughout Europe. The whole European Union is formed to avoid wars in Europe.

Thanks, great reaction!!! Been waiting for you to react to this song for a while. Dami Im is one of my favourite singer in the world. I've been following her since I discovered her back in 2013 on X-Factor. If you like Purple Rain, you should react to her live TV tribute performance to Prince at the last second request the morning Prince pass away.

You may not be aware but Dami is a First Class Honours Music Graduate as well as obtaining a Masters in Modern Contemporary Vocals , she was a Music Teacher before being exposed on Australia’s XFactor.

Oh wow that was awesome - I loved Dami's Eurovision performance that year (and actually if you can believe it, her performance of the same song in the semifinal was actually just a hair better than the Grand Final performance you watched.) Although, if you do "Sound of Silence," you MUST do the song that actually won Eurovision that year - "1944" by Jamala (Ukraine). It's another stunning vocal that's a really interesting comparison where Dami is all power and Jamala is really subtle and emotional but hits massive notes when needed. Dami actually won the music-industry jury vote, Russia's Sergey Lavrev won the televote (audio-visual spectacular, not as great on vocals), and Jamala snuck through the middle for the win by coming 2nd in both. (And still plugging for Brooks and Dunn's "My Maria" - still want a reaction to a big country music vocal :-)

I really love you reacting to Eurovision songs. If I may suggest one, Michał Szpak performing "Color Of Your Life" - he was known as "the Pirate from Poland" bc of his fashion choices. He is super talented and has very powerful voice, maybe this song doesn't show all of his abilities, but it is very good. He is also a diva and total sweetheart to his audience). [How to pronounce his name with english words: ME-HOW SH-PAH!-K] Other songs from Michał to listen to: 1. Cate Nickson it was truly a funny moment... it was clearly a different Australia accent to the woman in question, it was just an impression but she wasn’t impressed. Australia is a pretty big country so there’ll be a huge range of accents as anywhere 👍 Interesting you say that Melbournians sound more English as I’m English living in NZ and people think I’m from Melbourne 😄

Rebecca, FYI, I don’t think anyone’s mentioned that Dami Im was a music teacher before she won The X Factor Australia. Her mother was a trained opera singer. Dami studied piano from age 11 at the Young Conservatorium of Music program at Griffith University, Brisbane. She also plays violin. She graduated with first class honours in a Bachelor of Music then completed a Master’s of Music Studies degree in contemporary voice at Griffith University. Some of Dami’s former music students have commented on KZfaq about what a lovely person she is.

IN MOST OF DAMI INS "X-FACTOR" PERFORMANCES, HER AUDITIONS HAD THE JUDGES ON THEIR FEET NEARLY ALL THE TIME. SHE REALLY EXCELLED IN THE AUSTRALIAN "X-FACTOR". BY THE WAY REBECCA, HER MOTHER (SOUTH KOREA) WAS AN OPERA SINGER., AND, I AGREE WITH MANY OTHER SUBSCRIBERS, SHE SHOULD HAVE WON EUROVISION IN THAT YEAR.
