One thing very, very important, about brazilian music: we are heavily focused in LYRICS... so, always check the lyrics, this song, per example, it is so beautiful... It made my teenage years more berable :)

@@kevincorgan1576 In my first comment I said "they would be one of the best bands in history". That´s all. The other groups and guys you mentioned are great too. But they had a "small" advantage: they wrote their lyrics in English. Imagine if we were having this interesting conversation in Portuguese. It would be a little bit more difficult to you to express yourself. Native English speakers have an advantage, but that´s how things works.

Meu zeus, não há lugar no mundo para todos os melhores artistas? Sempre tem que ter um "melhor", "perfeito", "inalcançável"? Quanto mais bandas melhor. Assim penso eu. Cada artista é inigualável e insubstituível. Pois cada um tem algo que o outro jamais terá e ninguém poderá copiar. Pois cada ser humano é único. Que falta de noção e arrogância querer menosprezar um para engrandecer outro. Isso não é coisa de quem sabe apreciar a humanidade e as emoções na.arte. E sim de apaixonado por briguinha infantil de torcedor por puro nacionalismo barato. Erro de vocês que perdem a oportunidade de conhecerem a variedade e a diversidade de seres, artes, experiências e conhecimentos.

Band Legião Urbana and their vocalist Renato Russo were very successful mainly in the 1990s. They followed an ideological path within Brazilian rock a little different. Frank, one day I was at a book fair event a few years after Renato had passed away.🥺 This song was playing at the place I was having a drink. It was a beautiful Spring afternoon in Porto Alegre and the place was packed. When it reached the last part everybody sang along. It was so emotional! Legião forever!

Legião Urbana tocava todos os dias, toda a hora, a cada instante nas radios nos anos 80/90. Aqui no Brasil de Norte a Sul, Leste a Oeste tem excelentes musicos, artistas, compositores, bandas, ritmos diversos( samba, pagode, rock, axe, funk, mpb, etc), uma terra abençoada pela sua diversidade, sua gente alegre e festeira! É curioso como a Legião Urbana, mais precisamente, o Renato Russo representou uma geração. Veja como ele usa o verbo na primeira pessoa do plural: nosso tempo, podemos... Etc. Com isso ele dá voz a uma geração que se sente representada. Ele teve essa sensibilidade. Podem questionar a qualidade de sua melodia, de sua inovação, etc. Mas não do ícone que ele representou pra uma geração. Sim, poeta, filósofo ou músico, ele conduziu e influenciou uma grande Cultura

Frank, I'm happy to see that you are discovering and enjoying Legião Urbana. I see in you the same reaction that I and hundreds of thousands of young people had when they first heard Legião Urbana. A whole generation of Brazilians grew up loving and singing their songs. An example of this is the song FAROESTE CABOCLO. This song has almost 10 minutes of music in which not a single phrase is repeated. Ask someone who grew up in the 80s if he can sing this song by heart. I'm sure that 80% of people will say yes. Frank, fico feliz em ver que você está descobrindo e gostando do Legião Urbana. Vejo em você a mesma reação que eu e centenas de milhares de jovens tiveram quando ouviram Legião Urbana pela primeira vez. Toda uma geração de brasileiros cresceu amando e cantando suas músicas. Um exemplo disso é a música FAROESTE CABOCLO. Essa música tem quase 10 minutos de música em que não se repete sequer uma frase. Legião Urbana, one of the most important brazilian rock bands in all times. At least two generations were touched by them. Their special way of treating important themes made a great difference in our music. I am really happy to see that you, non brazilian musicians, loved it. Quando se exalta a suposta profundidade das letras de bandas populares e as chamam de poéticas ou coisa parecida, é por falta de conhecimento do que é poesia de alto nível. O mesmo "jovem" que as chama de poéticas, raramente lê poesia e quando lê entende pouco. Há algo de poético sim nessas bandas e elas refletem de fato questões de seu tempo. Mas é o tempo da cultura pop, em que a superficialidade impera. Qualquer coisa mediana passa por genial. 3. Uma das angústias da cultura pop é envelhecer e Legião Urbana compartilha com seu público a síndrome de Peter Pan

Hi Frank! This video is from the early 80's. On the Bass guitar, Renato Rocha, who didn't stay long on the band. This is one of my favorite LU's songs. And yes, Renato Russo was unique. Huge Singer, huge artist. There is a guy singing nowadays with the other two, because people still need to listen to Legião. You should listen to them now. The Guy is @adre_frateschi. He is an actor and great singer. TKS.

Legião Urbana is the biggest and the best Brazilian rock band, it reflected the thinking and feeling of the Brazilian youth not only about themselves but about the political situation in the country, unfortunately it stills very accurate nowadays. Renato was poet and his lyrics touched not only his generation... one of my favorites is “Daniel na cova dos leões”

Your affinity with Renato Russo is not for nothing: he was of Italian descent, recorded several songs in this language, visited his country at least twice. I think you notice something Italian in your singing style.

Thats the best music of Legião Urbana for me. That music hurt me in my soul, thats nostalgic, my childhood. Most of the musics remember Brasília in the 80's. About his voice, its really diferent look for a studio version.
