Queensryche's "Operation Mindcrime" is one of my favorite albums. This album was especially important during my active duty military years when I was deployed. The human condition is not designed to be faced with war regularly. Queensryche helped me deal with and overcome some of the most difficult times in my military career and life and has also influenced me as a musician. Geoff Tate is the best. From one reactor to another, do NOT miss out on Queensryches live in Tokyo song Take Hold of the Flame. It's a vocal clinic. Geoff Tate is the greatest progressive rock/metal vocalist in history and its not even debatable. Chris DeGarmo guitar solos are the best as well. They always fit the song perfect without being over the top shredding. To really appreciate their ability to draw emotion out of the audience check out Roads to Madness as well. That song still gives me goosebumps 35 years later. Keep up the great work!

He is without a doubt one of the greatest singers that ever sang rock. A true natural singer. You don’t see or hear that in males anymore, not like that. It’s rare. That being said this Kind of music is legendary. Queensryche just one of those unique 80s bands that were WAY ahead of their time. This record is More relevant today than it was in 88. The talent alone is incredible and I am so grateful I was a teen when these true talented musicians were on the radio. My ears can barely stand the souless noise that passes as music today. “People turn away from the eyes of a stranger….I’ve always known that the mirror never lies.” That is such a universal deep truth. This is art Cheers

This will become one of your favourite metal albums of all time. The complexity (at the time, anyway) mixed with accessibility, the coolness of the riffs, the power and punch of the songs, Geoff’s voice, and the concept story throughout makes for a great experience.

It wouldn't be the worst idea to watch a live video instead of the music videos. They were so great at the time there was barely any difference between studio and live and they used the big screen to project the video parts of the story. It really was a remarkable achievement. Gotta respect a girl that enjoys 80s 90s early 2000s Hair Bands..... ReeEEeeee you go girl ..

I’m not intentionally trying to create a dispute here, but I don’t like how Queensryche gets thrown into the mix of “hair” bands. I know they are sort of worked into that circuit commercially, and yeah Geoff Tate _visually_ had that sort of thing going on during this point of their career, but musically, they are leagues ahead of what hair bands are. What people think of as hair bands are more along the lines of Glam Metal and you could probably use both of those terms interchangeably. But the product you get with Queensryche is not the same product you get with Glam Metal and hair bands and all that. From the subject matter of the songs to the music itself. Everybody knows they categorized more as Prog Metal. And some of their early stuff you could arguably say they had a little bit of a Power Metal thing going on as well. And I’m saying this last because it’s just more of an observation than an actual point, but bringing back to what I said about them, Geoff especially, visually having a sort of hair band look going on; I think it’s ironic that them having made a beautiful ballad like Silent Lucidity is the type of thing that gets them grouped with hair bands, even though by that point, any visual resemblances to hair bands was already gone.

@@chucky9901 yeah but the context of it is in response with listening to and enjoying a Queensryche song. I mean you’re not gonna see someone enjoy a Queensryche song and then say something like “gotta respect someone who loves 1930’s Swing music” or something like that.

One of THOSE albums. If you're of a certain age and a metalhead, there's almost no chance this won't be in your top 10. A band at the very peak of their powers, and live it was next level. Such great memories.
