I happen to totally disagree. This is a very emotional interpretation that expresses all the physical and emotional contrasts this song is all about. It's an emotional rollercoaster. I don't know how it is possible not to see the emotion. It shows on his face, in his body language and is heard in his voice. After 4 years of listening to him performing this song each and every day, I am still moved beyond words and can't hold back the tears. Dimash is a soul healer for many people. But I guess to each their own.

Hi Dia. You are fully allowed to disagree. I understand and respect your opinion. Personnally, and maybe because we all have different ways of feeling things, I didn't welcome the emotions he conveyed. Maybe when It will take me four years to get there ;) Seriously, what's important is that this song and singer moved YOU and that's what I try to spread : the joy of listening to music, different kinds, and style. So please, forgive me if I don't share (for now) your emotion, but I'm really glad you enjoyed this performance. Take care.

@@michaelreactions You don't need to apologize (just please, don't say we are yelling at you, that's not true, at least for most of us). We are all different. And it didn't take me 4 years, I was completely overwhelmed with emotions immediately on first listening and this feeling has never diminished. 😀 By the way, Dimash's aim is not to demonstrate his vocals. In the majority of songs he doesn't have a wide range, high notes (high for Dimash, of course, Dimash is naturally a tenor and to sing on the higher side is natural for his voice). It all depends on the song and its interpretation. For instance, you can watch Samaltau, Qaragim ai or Qairan Elim or Durdaraz (unfortunately I can't post links) and you will understand that he doesn't have a purpose to demonstrate his range, but to tell a story and convey his emotions. His range is only one of the tools he uses in certain songs, not a purpose in itself.

The original is a sort of gentle rock, isn't it? I can see that if you are used to hearing the song with that kind of voice production, this one might sound too exact, too crystalline and melodic to feel like it has as much emotion in it. Here's the way Daniel Balavoine sang it. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b9GKqKeZ2rrPqHk.html Quite different. I prefer Dimash (the first time I heard the song), but I think once you get one way set in your mind, the other wouldn't attract you nearly as much.

Thanks for your reaction ☺️! I could see through the screen, that Dimash didn't catch you, like he did with me, almost 5 years ago! Honestly at first i didn't have the same strong emotion other Dears had! I was speechless and could not understand how this young man can do what ze did on this SOS performance the singer! My music education wasn't that good back then either! 🤣 I found myself coming back watching it again and again until one day i cried! I had goosebumps all the time but i wasn't that moved by it! Dimash Digital Concert Version has a special place in my heart, bc it was my firt concert of him on a very dark time, of COVID-19 lockdown! But i think there are better and more moving versions of this beautiful song from him. And it's okay to not like him, you don't need his help right now. As i have the feeling some of us get help hearing Dimash sing.
@bejewel4669
@bejewel4669 Жыл бұрын
Dimash has many variations of this song but this particular version was designed for his Dimash Digital Show online concert during the quarantine when he could not have give a live concert with audience. The pandemic interrupted his last world tour and after a year of no performances allowed, he held this special 1 1/2 hour online concert of 17 songs for his worldwide fans on Tixr platform for a ridiculous price of $10 a ticket (late price was $20). It was primarily a gift for his fans and Dimash donated $500,000 of the proceeds to ProjectCure a charity providing medical supplies to countries in need. Obviously most would disagree that he did not show emotion but then you have to know Dimash and his live performances to be more familiar with how he expresses himself. He is from Kazakhstan so perhaps you do not relate to his expressions when he sings. This song has special meaning for Dimash as his best friend who was an Olympic Bronze medal winning figure skater who skated to Dimash's SOS was murdered not too long ago and I feel he cannot help but think about his friend every time he sings this song.

Hi Bejewel, and thanks for your interesting comment. This may explain the great visual effects on this performance. And yes, I know (I said that on my video) that I'm gonna have many fans yelling at me about the fact that I didn't feel that emotion....But should I lie (like maybe some others?) or be honest... What's most important , I think, is that I totally respect everyone's opinion, and that I'm totally aware of Dimash's talent. Take care.

You're entitled to your opinion. Don't agree of course. The young man who sang it...then passed away...did a lovely job...but he was terminally ill. His emotion was obviously closer to the vest.

Hi from England, I knew when I saw and heard your reaction this song didn't really appeal, and I knew there would be some fans incensed by this lol, they get very protective of their idol, however this is why Dimash asks not to be seen as an idol because constructive criticism is valuable to a performer and required to advance in the craft. He would be upset if his fans were unkind or insulting as he is such a kind humble polite person himself. I adore Dimash and yet this is not a favourite version of this song by him either, excellently executed as always but not my favourite . I am glad that so many Dears were positive even though they were probably aghast at your reaction, to spread kindness tolerance and love is what Dimash wants and they know this so would accept your views grateful that you watched him at all. Because Dimash sings in so many genres I am sure there will be many songs you will enjoy. Thank you for your reaction. UKDear 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

99% of those who reacted to Dimash and the audience as well, were touched by the emotion he conveyed. As a matter of fact, some cried and majority commented that conveying a very strong emotion through his songs is one of his strengths. By the way, you are watching a young man who is determined to finish his PhD in music after finishing his masters degree with a perfect score. He is the pride of his country. He sing songs about his homeland, peace, unity, etc which other artists won't dare singing. When 99.99%of singers choose songs that will surely earn dollars (usually songs that belong to the trash can), Dimash looked the other way and performed meaningful songs.

The story of one sky.

As a young teenager, Dimash was inspired to sing this song as a result of Gregory Lemarchal's life story that played out on that French talent reality show with which you, as a French man, must be familiar and which Gregory won just before dying while waiting for a lung transplant at the age of 23. For Gregory to bravely sing, "Why do I live, why do I die" at the end of his very young life was so moving to a very sensitive Dimash. Later, Dimash's friend, Denis Ten, who was an Olympic medalist figure skater from Dimash's country of Kazakhstan was murdered at the age of 25 by a couple of hoodlums stealing items off his car. Again, the theme of the song hit so close to home for Dimash, and this is why he always sings it with such passion.

I heard that the French were proud when they learned that a young man won a singing competition in China with a French song. Both Chinese and French media went to Kazakhstan to dig about the life of Dimash after singing SOS in China back in 2017. They also looked for the only surviving sister of Daniel Balavoine to whom they showed the video of Dimash singing SOS. After the competition, Dimash was invited to the Cannes Festival not only once but twice or thrice.

Yes, and while at Cannes during dinner, he sang another rendition of SOS that I couldn't remember the place or would have at the top of the list I started in a comment I made elsewhere on this video of other unique renditions for Michael to listen to, Dear. That particular one in Cannes I believe was delivered Acapella, Michael Dear and the only the distraction were all those who initially were talking, clanking silverware when he began but very quickly became silent while recording with their phones what their ears couldn't believe as flashbulbs from cameras flashed from a growing standing encroaching crowd mesmerized by the raw emotions transmitted via DQ's voice. Please do find that one as it may just be the one that makes your opinion do an about-face. 🎉❤😊

Thank you for discovering Dimash and welcome to a beautiful world of music. Dimash is a 28-years old singer from Kazakhstan and believe me, you’ve seen nothing at all. In my opinion you have discovered the best singer in the world. He has perfect pitch and currently has a vocal range of 7,7 octaves (vocal fry C1 (B0) - whistle D8 off the piano). That means he hits notes in almost 8 octaves and sings consistently in 6 octaves. Not in one song (mostly😅). At least what he has shown us so far. He plays several instruments like piano, dombra (a kazach instrument), drums, marimba and more. He has classical as well as contemporary vocal training and sings in different genres from opera to pop, jazz, Kazakh folk, ballads and he even raps a bit. And often he skillfully mixes several genres in one song. And meanwhile in more than 10 languages. The latest songs (from Tokyo Jazz Festival in November 2021) are Ikanaide in Japanese and at his concert in Almaty on September 23, 2022 he sang a new song in Spanish (about 7 languages in one concert!). He sings no mainstream and is a completely independent artist. He has his own company „DimashAli Creative Center“ and is managed by his father Kanat. Maybe that’s the reason you never heard of him yet. He doesn’t sell his soul to a music label. He doesn’t want to be dictated by money when he has to sing what, when, where and how. Many of my favorite songs are in his native tongue. He is a nice, respectful and humble person. He respects people regardless of their original, religion or profession. He truly loves his homeland Kazakhstan and his people with all his heart and always shows it with pride in many of his songs, concerts and interviews. During his concerts in Dubai, Düsseldorf and Prague in 2022, before he performed his song War And Peace, he told the audience he loves all people in every country. And there are no bad nations (only bad leaders). And I absolutely believe this. His concert in September 23, 2022 was in his hometown Almaty, it was so amazing and it lasts almost 4 hours. Believe it or not but he really gets better and better. Every time you think you know him and his art1, you realize your so wrong. He's very spiritual and thankful for the gift God has given him. But he also works very hard to improve his vocal skills. He said in an interview he trains every day at least 3 hours and he swims under water very often to increase his lung capacity. He's a singer you can't put in any box. He sings almost every genre there is. Every time you watch a video, expect the unexpected. Even the covers he sings he makes his own and brings elements into the song that you would never expect. Don't be surprised if you get suggestions for songs you may have already seen. Dimash has different versions of many of the same songs. They are all worth seeing. Not only is he perfect at singing and performing, he's also an incredibly good actor. Check out his music videos. They are amazing. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I don’t think so😄. He sang this song on his digital concert in January 2021 during the pandemic. He had to cancel his tour and did this concert for his Dears/fans. That’s why there was no audiende to be seen or heard. Maybe you want to react to the version from the Slavic Bazaar. It’s also my favorite performance. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZhpraimv7zFqKc.html Please react to Sinful Passion next. And watch the videos till the end and you will see how kind and lovely he is. And I always recommend turning on the subtitles, if available. Here he sings in a competition for young musicians, called New Wave in Sochi, Russia. He was there in 2018 as a guest. The musicians who accompany him are called A-Studio. It's a Kazakh band that wrote this song in 1998. However, Dimash sang it differently. And in my opinion much better 😄. The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. He has come out of retirement to work with Dimash. True masterpieces were created. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship. If possible, always watch the videos to the end. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible. These last three mentioned songs are mind-blowing and will leave you speechless. I promise. Sinful Passion: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jZ92n6d-qNWcfIk.html If you like some really great fancam versions then I recommend the one from the Moscow concert: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q958m9qXq6y5gac.html Or another one from the Arnau concert: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/j7B1n6p5l87Vpas.html They are all a bit different. For later😉 Olimpico: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtGAhpmlnZrVl2g.html Stranger: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oqyjdZh5u9TRg3U.html Ave Maria: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o7J3a8pj1NWqg3U.html Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

A bientôt.

This song is a pearl of the French songbook is a Canadian-French cyberpunk-rock opera called Starmania, written in 1976 by Michel Berger (France) and with lyrics by Luc Plamondon (Canada) and immortalized in the voices of Daniel Balavoine, Diane Dufresne and Grégory Lemarchal. The song's theme is depression: In this 2021 version, Dimash faithfully and brilliantly presents a sentimental and melancholy interpretation! As the singing decisions follow the original structure of the song, which serves to show the psychological instability of the distressed character: From chest voice to head voice and then falsetto, the author aimed to show a broad need to win a long of desperation and the need to reach a very high perspective! Dimash, currently in his concerts, dedicates this song to his friends and acquaintances who left this world!

I enjoyed your reaction very much. I prefer the performance of this song that he did at the 2017 Chinese singing competition, "I Am a Singer," his first appearance outside of his home area (Kazakhstan, Russia, Central Asia and the Slavic countries). He was 22 and very nervous. The show was a competition among well-known, established professional Chinese singers, and no one knew what to expect from him. Needless to say, he amazed everyone and won that first evening of the competition. He woke up to bodyguards at his hotel room, and the hotel surrounded by new fans. The rest is history. I prefer that rendition because it is more spontaneous and natural, and I love the reactions of the other competitors. Watch that one and see what you think. To see the results of his classical training, watch "Tu Va Me Detruire" (unsure of the spelling) from the stage musical "Hunchback of Notre Dame" (don't know the French title). It's a duet he did with another Kazakh operatic baritone for a Russian competition for opera singers. You have every right to your opinion. This song means a lot to you and I understand that the French people love it very much. Your personal preference is entirely valid to you, and you have that right. I enjoy more than one flavor of ice cream. I've never heard anyone else sing SOS, so I can't make a comparison. Thanks for your reaction, and your very educated thoughts. Carol from Boston

Hi Carol from Boston. Thanks for your comment. I bravo for your almost perfect spelling of the song "Tu vaS me détruire" (the missing "s" is silent...yeah...you know how we are, french people : putting additional letters while not pronouncing them...just to make it difficult to french students...lol) I know this song. It's a good one. But maybe I should try to listent to something in english now...prior to this one. And I appreciate your words, but it's not even the fact that this song means a lot to me or not...honestly... How don't know how to express my reaction better than this : I listened and watched an amazing performance, but It didn't find its way to my heart... and it's no big deal. It's like falling in love... you may have the prettiest and smartest woman, or the most handsome and smartest man in front of you and don't feel anything... that's part of the magic of emotions... anyway. I really appreciate you taking some time to comment this way. Take care.

You might prefer Dimash's 2017 performance of SOS on the annual Chinese singing competition I Am Singer. As a virtual unknown to the Chinese audience, judges and competitors, Dimash OPENED the annual contest of invited Chinese professional singers from different genres competing for Chinese singer of the Year with SOS. Dimash was the youngest ever competitor and the first non-Chinese singer ever invited to participate. He became an instant sensation requiring bodyguards for the remainder of the competition. This 2017 performance is my personal favorite of SOS as it was my first experience of Dimash in late 2017. Also, I'm partial to the 2017 performance due to the emotional response by and connection with the Chinese audience. Chk it out on a personal level. If this 2021 isn't particularly ur cup of tea, try Dimash's 2018 performance of Sinful Passion. In it u will witness a couple of things found nowhere else in a performance by anyone. Also, I strongly recommend Ave Maria, composed by billionaire Ukranian composer/ music mogul Igor Krutoy, specifically for Dimash. Also, Love is Like A Dream, again rearranged by original composer Krutoy for Dimash. Or not. Good luck to your channel. Imo Dimash is the most talented singer currently walking the planet. Mark

Dimash has been singing this song from when he was pretty young. Gregory Lemarchal, the singer who built a career as a singer in the face of a terminal illness( lung disease) had sung this song. He eventually died at the age of 27 but left a mark on the world. Dimash was really inspired by him and has sang this song for years.Gregory used to be called as "Angel Gregory". The angel wings in the video are a tribute to him. So you might have felt he's a little over the top here but once you get familiar with his singing ability you will get to see his performing/artistic side as well

This IS Dimash. Not an act. You should definitely watch more of him. If not as a reaction, privately, listen to him performing this at the Chinese TV show/competition 'Singer', 2017. Just type that on YT, you will find it. I like it better, it's more heart than here. I think you would prefer it too, and feel differently. The first one hear, and get used to will often be the best, and it can take time to get used to another version. There's a huge difference to Daniel Balavoine's singing. And, don't forget, Balavoine sung it like a part of 'Starmania', while Dimash has a different approach, only seen from the perspective of how anyone could feel about life. When I heard Dimash singing Lionel Richie's 'Hello' the first time, I thought it was dreadful. Now I consider one as good as the other, can't choose. Same with Queen's 'The Show Must Go On'. Both from the TV competition 'Singer'.

My penny’s worth: For most of us Dimash fans, SOS was the first song we ever heard him sing. We also never heard it before his rendition, so to us it is the benchmark of SOS. For me Dimash gives his own unique emotional expression to this song, but other performers do it in their ways and each is unique and good. Dimash do sing other songs which I find much more emotion rich. SOS is THE song that Dimash used to introduce his art to the world in his early career days and he does showcase his magnificent voice through it. Michael, please react to more Dimash songs, looking forward to your journey. Melbourne, Australia.

I didn't expect some comments, that's for sure, but 99% of the Dears are respectful and polite so far. So, I don't want to put the blame on a whole group of person because only a handful of them are trolling....but thanks.

The rapid growth of the world fame of Dimash Kudaibergen began in January 2017 as a result of participation in the Chinese vocal competition "The Singer". During the performance of songs, he does not limit himself to a certain range of voice, for example, baritone, but also rises to the level of a rare range of countertenor and even female soprano in one song. At concerts, he performs songs using various complex singing techniques, where the tonality of the tenor or baritone is taken as a basis, with transitions into the ranges of baritone, countertenor and soprano. He is fluent in Kazakh and Russian, studies English and Mandarin dialect of Chinese. He is influenced by the musical creativity of Michael Jackson, Ermek Serkebayev, Celine Dion, Lara Fabian and Luciano Pavarotti. As a singer, he strives to present Kazakhstan to the world. Despite his masterful mastery of academic and pop singing skills, D. Kudaibergen does not like to talk about the technical side of song performance during the interview, including the number of octaves, the lowest and highest note, the belonging of his own voice timbre. Ambassador of the brand of watches and jewelry Jacob & Co, the brand of men's suits SHOQAN. Participated in the creation of fragrances of his own brand DQ Scent of Music

I respect your reaction to Dimash version of SOS as well as your opinion. I do not speak French but love his rendition of your French song which made me want to seek out more French songs. Which might be a possitive thing. Dimash sings many songs in English as well... which is my language. He also makes some mistakes with the English language as well has his Kazak accent. Perhaps I am just used to singers with different accents and diferent mother tougues singing in english and am able to enjoy them. Personally, I love Dimashs music and reguardless if it is French, Italian, Kazak, Rusian,Chinese,Japanese, etc. Each song is beautiful to me. He loves all languages, countries and their peoples as. This is the important message us Dears understand and get from his music. Thank you and peace to you.

If you continue reacting to him, it will be even bigger satisfaction to see you fall in his rabbit hole and being amazed and shocked in the same time. At least i hope so. Because Dimash IS a healer. And many other things than just a singer. Thank you for your reaction!
