Finally I get to use this beast after a few snags but we have it set up and ready to go! Wow the brakes!!!

First yes! To the trailer vibration. 1) tire pressure and balance, 2) engineered trailer type frames will vibrate with any subtle road undulations. Mine does no matter what when not loaded, usually at 65-70 mph on concrete interstate, asphalt not as much.

great video and one thing s is you can move up the load towards your front axle on the trailer. I'm ordering a 3rd 40k trailer. you can load more to the front of 40 k trailer and they ride smooth. Keep trucking!!

If you are still having the vibration issue, id look into the centramatic wheel balancers for the rear axle. It seems to eliminate the problem

if your hauling tracked equipment you should carry or have on site some old tires to protect your deck and ramps. they are also good for the road so you don't tear up the asphalt.

Great video man and solid solid trailer. Do you find it easier towing that new Diamond C vs your sure track even with the hydraulic dove tail sticking farther out? Just curious because I'm shopping for a new gooseneck myself. Also when can we see that thing hauling the Sany?

Should be hauling the SANY next week. I don’t find it any hard t to drive around really. Need to be alittle more mindful on turns I guess

For the trailer brakes...have you done the trailer setup for that specific trailer in the dash/message center on the truck? If I remember correctly there is a choice for your braking system when entering the trailer name and other info. This might be the problem. I've had a '19 F-350 DRW and now a '21 F-450 DRW and never had a problem with braking on any of the trailers I've pulled, but I have also entered my trailers into the dash/message center. None of my trailers have electric over hydraulic brakes though either. Also be sure to select which trailer you're using after hooking up to it as the dash/message center won't know which one you have connected unless you only have one configured in the system.

For sure I have done all that. Thanks for helping though.

My guess is the reason it does not have 12 v all the time on is so it won't arc or something when you plug it into the 7 pin

Somebody added a wire from one of his upfitter switches to his trailer 12 volt to get his electric over hydraulic brakes working, a tad inelegant but it seemed effective.

I know you said youd be going over the suspension and stuff next video but I was wondering why go with the 40k vs a 30k if the trucks capacity isnt 40k? I have a '19 450 with a 30k PJ gooseneck.

I just wanted the extra strength and if I need to throw more rear weight on the trailer I know I’ll have the payload for it. Wasn’t much difference in price so said why not
@algervasio32993 жыл бұрын
The tag on these trailers does not represent the actual weight. I just picked up an fmax216 40k....same trailer but 32 feet with aluminum wheels. Weighs 9200 lb empty; on the scale....just fyi

That logic Ford uses for its trailer charge circuit makes no sense, unless they just want to protect that circuit from being used for other accessories. I was pulling my hair out when I got my new 21 F350 trying to figure out why I had no power to the charge terminal in the plug. The way I understand how it works is that, after the trailer is plugged in, it takes a press of the brake pedal to activate it. I think in your case, since the hydraulic master cylinder on the trailer needs 12V before IT will work, your truck never detects the trailer brake pedal activation and thus won't activate your charge circuit to give the master cylinder 12V. Now that you installed that jumper wire, does the truck activate the charge circuit now?

Did you happen to accidentally lock up your trailer tires and flat spot them when you were adjusting your brakes? I’ve had that happen to me and it will cause the vibration that you have at certain speeds.

My thoughts are the same as you regarding the stupid 12v on the superduty's where you have to press the brakes to get a 12 volt connection. It took me a long time to figure it out, spent lots of time troubleshooting my trailers thinking that it was the wiring and all it was the stupid ford engineer that developed the superduty trailer wiring on my 2018 f350. I also waisted lots of effort and frustration figuring out which one of the trailer related fuses that was in my f350 that may be causing the no voltage to the trailer. Dumb, dumb, dumb Ford trailer engineer developer! Who ever thought of this should be fired.

When you spend that much money and shit doesn’t work like it’s supposed to, it’s very frustrating. Too bad nowadays you’re mostly paying for fancy nonsense and not just rugged durability, which is far more important in a truck.

@@samuelschnare4905 I agree with you. I’m just saying Ford has the most power, torque, always in the right gear, more durable trans, more towing, more payload, better turning radius, more cab space, will never rust, the best mirrors of any vehicle ever made, better headlights, stronger frame, better fuel economy, better seats, and so on. Other than exhaust brake, (which can be upgraded) I don’t see a reason not to buy Ford.
@samuelschnare49053 жыл бұрын
@@americantrucknation4891 comfy seats and extra cab space don’t make it tow better or any more reliable. I can’t speak for 2021 but my 17’ ram compared to a very similar 17’ ford (both 6.7 4x4 etc) got better mileage under any conditions, and I’m going to really specify here.. ANY conditions than the powerstroke. The only way that a powerstroke “could” get better mileage is with more gears. If it has the same number of gears as a Cummins it will use more fuel all day, everyday.
