However, Marcus gets a taste of his own medicine when a merger finds him working under the beautiful Jacqueline (Robin Givens), who has a similarly cavalier attitude about romance. Meanwhile, Marcus also begins to develop feelings for the pretty Angela (Halle Berry), who is more thoughtful than Jacqueline.

Lela Rochon’s acting was spot on she was purposely playing a ditz

Her acting wad purposely like that. She's playing a dits....a very hot dits...but a dits... That was the point of the character. It was showing that he was still willing to go along and hit it even with her extremely annoying personality but was out when he saw her feet.

The more I watch this movie the more I realize how much of a true boomerang this was. Jacqueline was working him from day 1. You can’t tell me she didn’t know who he was and then immediately negged him to take him down a peg. From that point on it was Jacqueline’s game and Marcus was just trying to keep up. Marcus not only got a taste of his own medicine but the office dynamics and even the horny boss (Eartha) are things women have dealt with forever. I love this movie! I only wish Halle would’ve rejected him because he didn’t deserve her idc idc.

You look really pretty. Love your reactions to these classics. Boomerang is hilarious. Eddie Murphy is a legend. You should check out Soul Food. This is before David Alan Grier played the evil monster in that annoying horror Tales from the hood.

3:26 David Alan Grier years before he performed my favorite role, “Reverend Leon Lonnie Love” on Martin. ❤ And who can forget the IMPACT of the Boyz To Men song, "End of the Road". That was a cross cultural hit!

I'm a new subscriber to your channel young lady. You're not just externally attractive, but you also emit internal beauty that glows from you. You seem bright & insightful as well, which are appealing qualities too. I particularly enjoyed your reaction to "Malcolm X", but i also enjoyed your reactions to "Boomerang"/"Cooley High"/"Life"/& "Harlem Nights". Thank you & much respect!

Boomerang is an under appreciated classic in my opinion. The fact this movie still hits over thirty years later is remarkable. The cast, the soundtrack, memorable scenes, this movie has it all. It’s bizarre that this is both Halle Berry and Eddie Murphy’s only romcom to date. I agree with your point about Angela and Marcus having more scenes together to build a relationship. I would even argue and say this movie was somewhat ahead of its time; you can make a movie like this (even thought i don’t want this to be remade) and it will still hit. Critics at the time (mainly white ones) called this movie a “sci-fi/fantasy because they couldn’t get over how they were not the focus of the movie and how there were no White people working at the same firm as Jacqueline, Marcus, Angela, etc. I also like how Eddie Murphy went on to explain that this movie was suppose to focus on Black people, and Black people only. Boomerang came out during the time when the “hood films” like Boyz N the Hood, New Jack City, and even Juice premiered and it was somewhat like a unicorn when it was released. Fun fact: the ending of this movie was suppose to be when Marcus and Jacqueline hooked up for one last time, but Marcus didn’t really choose between both women. The Black renaissance of the 90s in terms of Black movies had lots of bangers, but Boomerang and Brown sugar are my top two favorite Black romcoms ever, and this movie is in my top ten of my favorite Black movies ever. I like how nuance this film is too.

Oh wow! By them labeling it a Sci-fantasy is so disrespectful 😩 Brown sugar is actually my favorite movie and this is definitely close to it!

Yeah this movie was really good. Black women back then were beautiful and classy back in the early 90s from the movies to the female hosts on BET to music videos. I enjoyed your reaction to this movie. But you know the trip part about this movie is that a lot of people don't catch is that Halle Berry waa a hypocrite because she did the same thing to David Allen Grier character what Eddie Murphy did to her. But to me this movie is funnier than Friday.

Mmmm he seemed on board with them being friends and they made it clear they’re just friends. If he wanted more he should have spoken up and gave her that right to turn him down to clarify even further. A closed mouth don’t get fed 🤷🏾‍♀️😂

@@im_a_FannYeah but she knew that he really liked her but she still chose to sleep with his close friend. And to me that's actually worse than what Eddie did. Jacqueline (Robin Givens character) wasn't close friends with Halle Berry. And Halle Berry knew that Marcus and Jacqueline was in a heated relationship so she knew what she was getting into. But to sleep with one of the man's best friends was low down in my opinion though the movie betrayed Halle Berry to be this innocent noble angel. And it took me since 1992 until like what 5 years ago to realize this in this movie. Still one of my favorites though.

@robertepps2834 I just don’t think she should feel a way for liking his friend rather than him. She made it clear with him that they’re just friends and she pursued the one she wanted🤷🏾‍♀️ I see your point tho. Thanks for watching!

@@big2033 Well I see what type of human being you are! I wouldn't want to be your friend. You are a straight up snake! She knew she was wrong and Eddie did too! They showed Eddie Murphy feelings of remorse when they was playing pool almost at the end of the movie. That's what the fuss was about when David Allen Grier stormed out of there. They just didn't show Halle Berry's remorse for what she did for the sake of I guess ending the movie and making her seem like she was the good girl but she would have to shut her dam mouth up because she did the same thing to David Allen Grier's character what Eddie Murphy did to her character. As a matter of fact she is worse than Eddie because she came between two close friends to achieve what she wanted. So she was not a good of a girl as they I guess wanted to portray her to be maybe because she's light skin and they want to play on the whole thing that you really shouldn't see her as the evil devil that she really is because she is light skin and half white. See so there is a whole lot of things going on here that a casual viewer wouldn't pick up and you go on thinking that o yeah Halle Berry was the good girl but really you have been deceived into thinking that do to colorism and she being light skin and half white. So see Halle Berry's character is not all of that bad because she is light skin but the truth of the matter is she was worse than all of them. You just didn't catch that because she's light skin and you believe light skin people are more moral and good hearted because they have some white in them. Do you see now how they trick us in the movies?
