If audacity was a person: ..Can you please step out of the bubble you seem to be in. It's like you view everything thru a super biased perspective no offense but I know I'm in no position to even share any negative opinions. How are you so critical of this hero? As if you are in any position to be critical. You sound crazy.

Coming To America came at a time where Black films was still rare in the mainstream, had a popular star that everybody loved and was a positive portrayal of black royalty that was never seen before. So anyone who watched it and the kids who watched it with their parents at the time and following years liked it for that and its legend grew because of it. However the film doesnt hold up compared to other Eddie movies and the sequel is terrible. So if you were one of the few that never seen it but heard how great it is sometimes the overhype can ruin a movie. Also there some issues about colorism thrown at it because of the way the sisters are portrayed but i dont think that a thing since the queen is dark shade and she was not portrayed badly but regal. While daryl was portrayed as a jerk and he's the only light skin dude in the movie but no one brings that up. Overall its a movie of its time, good at the time but not as cool now but still watchable.

Yes, I can see it being a monumental achievement during those times. The storyline is solid in my opinion. The topics of conversation were realistic, not forced. I think the only problem I'm having with his movies is the pacing. He tends to drag it out. A concise 80 minutes would have been perfect. It shouldn't have been a 2-hour movie

Eddie seems to go for the light skinned or biracial woman as the love interest. He dates and marry light & white so it reflects his life🤷🏾‍♀️😂. I don’t plan on watching the sequel any time soon. I’ve heard many times how terrible it was

This movie just happens to be tied with "LIFE" as my two all-time favorite movies. "Coming To America's" premise is so poignant & powerful because it demonstrated unfortunately that "in order for Akeem to find an honorable wife that truly loves his soul and not just his wealth, he had to make himself poor to see if her heart is true". (Welcome back).

I think the violin is a very noble instrument to play. Have you ever heard of the legendary KAREN BRIGGS?? About 30 years ago. There was a commercial TV ad. about a LIVE Televised concert coming in 6 weeks. "YANNI LIVE AT THE ACROPOLIS in GREECE. Yanni...Everyone knew was a classical pianist and orchestra conductor. The night of the concert which I had no intentions of watching because I liked FUNK and R AND B. My cousin called me and said "Turn Yanni on QUICK !!! Turned it on in time to catch the Bass solo that was kick-ass. Then Karen stood up and her violin solo was pure FUNK !!! This pretty black woman played the violin like Eddie Hazel or Jimi Hendrix. There was no doubt Karen knew the rest of the night that she stole the show. It was a 2 hour broadcast but the one song you really need to hear is "THE RAIN MUST FALL". I have seen many violinist try to cover Karen's solo over the years. Watch Karen Briggs if you need any inspiration to pick up your craft again.

Pryor was a the beginging of a muscle desease called multipe sclerocis that he later died from. He was moving different and his facial expressions were off. Eddie was a hero for gathering all of his heroes while they were still alive and getting into one movie.

I love this film but it pisses me off too how can you hate and betray someone that's all for you sacrifice for you. And unfortunately many black people want to believe in something/someone so bad they will glad you overlook the bullshit and fraud in them the truth hurts. I feel for Malcolm cause i know hiw it feels to be down for someone and a cause just to find out it's all bullshit and fake. And it's crazy how these snakes and frauds have all these followers and people still bigging them up.

This is one of those where it HAS to be the uncensored version, just like "Blazing Saddles." You need to hear the language, raw. Sometimes it's ugly, but sometimes the ugly is why it's funny, because the ugly person just showed their ignorance, and we get to laugh at them, together, like family, laughing at the dumb one the other family keeps in the basement.

A monolithic film. The fact that only four people have reacted to it on youtube, is saddening. The fact that Denzel didn't get an Oscar for it is beyond garbage. But hey, it's power remains regardless.

@ I’m a Fan: To answer your question, no Malcolm didn’t get a chance to say his speech the day he was killed.. There used to be some audio online years ago from that day but I’m not sure if it still is. He could be heard saying Hold it, Hold it, Hold it, HOLD IT then the first shot went off people started screaming and it cut off..

13:33 something about that scene that really chills me is that it's Banes who turns on Malcolm Bane who helped save and welcomed him into the right path the 2 even reading and studying together as student & mentor There's just something so cruel about how all of that just fades away in one conversation like Elijah Mohammed's greed & jealousy towards Malcolm has poised everyone around him leaving them just as corrupted as he is

Those guys were FBI agents placed inside the Nation of Islam. This is why Malcolm’s daughter and Benjamin crump are suing the New York police department and looking to hold the Government accountable because they hired people to assassinate Malcom and they tried bring down the Nation of Islam as well….. but

Thing is it wasn’t the Nation of Islam . The US government placed agent around Malcolm and inside the Nation of Islam. That’s who assassinated him. That’s why earlier this Malcolm’s daughter and Ben crump are suing the New York police department and the Government. They put black agents inside organizations and make you think it’s just ignorant niggaz fighting whole time it’s the feds doing this mess. They play real dirty when they don’t like you…
