I remember the scarab beetle scenes horrified me as a kid. I’m very happy it’s nothing more than Hollywood myth. Scarabs do not do that in real life. They were, however, considered sacred to the ancient Egyptians, placing a scarab beetle amulet on the sarcophagus was believed to provide protection to the mummy during their journey to the afterlife. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Don't feel bad for the old dead British pilot. He was old, he'd seen and done everything and with his best days behind him he was doomed to wasting away drunk reliving his grande memories. He was looking for his last great adventure, his last ride into death and unto Valhalla as they say. He knew what he signed up for and he got what he wanted. And he died happy.

please keep the old editing style *Please keep your reaction in full screen without moving it.* To avoid copyright it is only necessary to edit the scenes of the movie (not your reaction) *solution to c0piright issues* IMAGE EDITION : - Edit the movie with partial % of transparency (and/or text) - Flip the movie from Right to Left AUDIO EDITION : - Put the volume of the movie lower than the volume of your microphone(not too low). (Statics, White noise & your comments , make little distortion to the audio) - Record the audio of your reaction separately from the audio of the movie, that way you can mute/edit the audio/image of the movie without muting/editing the audio/image of your reaction.

The real Imhotep was a Architect/ medicine man. He came up with the idea for the pyramids. So this movie took a real person and twisted who he really once was. There's a much older movie with the same name starring Boris Karloff. I don't know if it has the same story line though.

I love this movie. Everything about it. It's so much fun. Unfortunately, Brendan Fraser seriously hurt his neck filming that hanging scene when the stunt went wrong. It was the start of years of physical pain after this, unfortunately. And, along with another unfortunate event involving SA against Brendan Fraser (as the victim), it led to a decline in his career when he was and should have been at the top of the game. Only in recent years has he come back to the spotlight, after surgeries and deciding to talk openly about the SA. He found out that everyone missed him and loved him so much because he is a wonderful actor and person. He's now working again. ❤❤❤ Have you watched "Encino Man" yet? That was when most of us first fell in love with Brendan. 😍😅

I do have a small question though,if you know anything id like your opinion. Someone said on another reaction that her in that outfit wouldnt be seen as acceptable in that culture just because her face veil is see thru. Do either of you think that would be an issue? I just see it as a woman who in this story has an Egyptian mother and a british Father and was born in Egypt taking a liking to the clothes of the culture shes in.

The Mummy is one of my favorite movies. I love Rachel Weisz as the brainy, beautiful leading lady, Brendan Fraser as the adventurous man of action, and Arnold Vosloo as the chief villain. Also, they did get the mummification practices correct when Evelyn described how ancient Egyptians removed people's brains (minus a slight omission): The embalmers used the hook to also punch a hole in the person's skull so the brain drained out when they were rolled over. And I always get jumpscared when Jonathan is toying around in that damned sarcophagus, no matter how many times I've seen the movie. Side trivia: 1. After Evelyn unknowingly awakens Imhotep by reading the Book Of The Dead and the locust swarm flies into the encampment at Hamunaptra, the locusts crawling on the Egyptologist are actually grasshoppers that were refrigerated to make them sluggish. 2. In the desert race to Hamunaptra, you see camels and horses. Horses are faster, but camels are adapted to life in the desert. Even though they do eventually have to eat and drink, camels can live off the fat reserves inside their humps, their long eyelashes keep dust out of their eyes, and their feet are big and wide to keep them from sinking into the sand as they move.

editing tip: Please keep the reaction in full screen. It is unnecessary to add constant editing changes. The reaction changes location and size every 5 seconds, which is visually tiring. from the point of view of a video reaction consumer I recommend keeping the reaction in full screen and in one place. sometimes less editing is better To avoid copyright, you must edit the movie scenes (just movie scenes not your reaction)

I've said it before, and I will always say it with both pride and confidence: The Mummy AND The Mummy Returns are both better than The Mummy: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor. I LOVE the chemistry between Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz (love Maria Bello, but her faked accent left everything to be desired) and while I LOVE Jet Li, Arnold Vosloo plays a villainous ancient corpse way better. Also, as many times as I've seen this movie, I always get jumpscared when Jonathan pops up out of the sarcophagus with that mummy to scare his sister. Fun facts: Camels are slower than horses but are built for life in the desert. Even though they do eventually need to eat and drink, they can live off the fat reserves in their humps for short periods of time, they have long eyelashes to keep sand and dust out of their eyes, what they lack in speed, they make up for in endurance, and they have large feet, so they don't sink into the sand when they're walking. You know the swarm of locusts that emerges as soon as Imhotep wakes up? The ones that are crawling on the Egyptologist are actually grasshoppers that were refrigerated to make them sluggish. When Evelyn describes the mummification process, one part was omitted: The red-hot poker was used to punch a hole in the back of the corpse's skull so the scrambled brain would pour out of the nostril when the person was turned over.
