Prefects usually run the school - they are in charge of everything even discipline and recommendations for discipline. The idea of having prefects running things is to develop sense of leadership training; to build a community with peer leadership. Your daughter has leadership qualities. Hopefully she will become one when she becomes a senior student.
@OurJourney2SouthAfrica5 ай бұрын
Ahhhh, I see. I hear they take that role pretty seriously ☺️
@jpaultelchannel17025 ай бұрын
@@OurJourney2SouthAfricaIt is a serious and important affair. That is why they select students who are smart, can handle their school work, all other school activities and still attend to all the responsibilities of being a prefect. My head prefect (officially called the School Captain) once saved me from serious trouble. More than forty years later, I still recognize with amazement how by sheer force of character and the presence of his personality, he maneuvered around that event and over the power of what would have been an arresting army officer. Maybe those officers would have beat me or detained me for who knows how long.... But none of that happened. I was 15 and he stopped anything that could have happened by steering me away before a confrontation occurred by telling that I was late and to run to my destination. RUN, RUN, RUN, RUN.... I had to obey and run, not looking back and avoided disaster. Interesting thing: he never asked me then or later what the issue with that soldier was.
