Aww. I had my first baby about a year and a half ago (time flies!) and I was so nervous leading up to the delivery about people looking at my baby-delivering-parts and all the embarrassing things that could happen (could and did happen but at that point I didn’t care anymore and was just ready to hold my baby). I felt so heavy in my mind like “no one wants to be looking at that part of me I’m so sorry doctors and nurses” but seeing someone be EXCITED about getting to be in labour and delivery, excited to deliver babies, that would have been so comforting to see while I was pregnant. I could have felt a bit more excited instead of feeling like a burden. I hope you know your smile will mean a lot to a nervous first mom!

27 hour shifts are insane. No idea how you do that! So great to see you enjoying what you do though and being back in your happy place of ob/gyn! :)

I’ve been watching for maybe a couple years or something and I really can’t say how beautiful it is to be along with someone on their journey and finally see it coming into fruition and I know even when she hits her highest goal she’ll just keep on growing. The overwhelming intelligence, kindness and motivation she’s always shown that comes from within and from the community around personifies all the right ways we build into our best and selves. Being able to see others grow makes it so much easier to measure and believe in your own growth. I never followed because I wanted to get into medicine, but I didn’t really see how much it was about changing along with them. Watching other people take shape is an amazing catalyst.

Wow, it’s so amazing to watch your videos from when you started. This video almost made me cry. I lost my baby when I was 26 weeks pregnant due to placenta abruption. It’s been two months now and hard to believe. I’m supposed to be 35 weeks now. My first pregnancy I had preeclampsia but never once was it ever mention placenta abruption could possibly happen. I miss my baby so much.

I would love to hear your thoughts on endometriosis as you continue through this clinical. I was diagnosed a couple of years ago via laparoscopic surgery and was told the only treatment was taking birth control to regulate my periods. I’ve seen recent articles online discussing that endometriosis maybe classified as an immune disease now. The information on endo is so inconsistent and confusing.

Do not worry about the short vlog, it was a fun vlog.

I’ve been watching Chicago Med (as one does-especially one who is no where near medicine 🤣), and you totally remind me of actress Torrey Devitto playing Dr. Natalie Manning (in looks, not practice. Natalie has questionable ethics in medicine). I cannot un-see it now!

Consider not only cool stuff,but the hard part of it- long amd exhausting shifts, enormous responsibility both in gyn and in ob, emrgencies and the speed you have to have to react when smth is going wrong. It is hard both mentally and physically. Also, there is a life outside the hospital and family, what doctors sometimes forgets about :)

Any chance you know the name of the article from Journal club you talked about at the beginning? My research area is hypertension and obesity during pregnancy and nutrition interventions to improve offspring outcomes. would love to read the article since it’s related!
