The girl is awesome for giving him a chance and showed open communication even when they have different viewpoints but their still able to be engaging in their conversations.

She chose to continue to engage in the conversation, but she didn't feel conformable being in it. You don't talk about past relationships on a first date or on any number of dates unless it's asked. With that said, if it's mentioned, it's something to be cautious about going in depth.

I don't think there's anything wrong with her being private. When you meet someone knew, should you really pour all your personal things to them? If it doesn't work out between the two of you, then that person will still know all those personal things about you... Everyone's different and there's no right or wrong, but I totally understand the way she is. It should be earned - with time....

I think it's all about reading the relationship. I can see both sides, one hand you don't want to overshare, on the other hand - it can feel like a bit of rejection and quite honestly a bit demoralizing if you're sharing yourself and the other person isn't reciprocating.

Its up to each person, if you (like him) are that open and forward but your partner doesn't want you to be then you end it. Now if you are fine with her not being and she is fine with you being then its okay. But its better to be open and get rejected quickly then waste time.

I said it is better to be yourself (as he is a person who expresses himself openly and quickly) and get rejected than to hide yourself. How can a solid foundation be built on deceit? To note I build my relationships slower as I am not quick to open or to even trust but that is who I am. I am saying don't hide yourself for a genuine relationship.

Great examples of what solid communication looks like. They both had different views on opening up on the first date but it blended so well. They understood eachothers viewpoints instead of stomping them down. I can see them working out for a long time.

Exactly my feeling. So many people here saying how great this was, it wasn't great at all in my opinion, and I don't think they'll last longer than 2 more dates. They had so much common ground, and he had plenty of opportunity to make this fun and make her laugh, but he drags it into an emotional pit, which it seemed she went to the bathroom to get a break from. And when she returns, he drags it into the emotional pit again about his hardships with his weight. Wow, man.

It is okay to tell your date what you like or prefer. I think people have the ability to be themselves on first dates so they'll know if there'll be a next date. I wouldn't say they have no future together. That's just a bit too judgemental imo.

Wow, if I'm the guy and things worked out I will definitely come back and give a shoutout to the bartender, maybe even an invite to the wedding. First date can be pretty nerve wrecking (if not VERY nerve wrecking), bartender was talking to the guy, keeping him chill, and even helped him with a real and genuine laugh as his date was walking over. That laughter must have already helped with his date into thinking he looked like a pretty chill and fun guy to be with. Great smile, neat haircut and an absolutely stunning outfit, he put effort into making the night enjoyable and the bartender conversation with him was the icing on the cake. Amazing!

The guy appears to be over sharing and being a bit insecure way too early, it's a classic red flag, that's why she said never had date like this before, most guys know the red zone 1st date. Usually it's good once they have the attraction built and settled, but first date def screwed it up. When she hears all of this it is for sure an attraction killer, all she has left is "feel bad for him", she feels comfortable for sure, but friend zoned or brother zoned him. In real life, there will be no 2nd date, unless the girl dig dude's appearance of course.

I enjoyed watching them connect. He is a very mature young man. Very good at expressing himself and accepting his journey. She may learn from him regarding how to express her feelings and experiences. Then I hope they find a healthy loving connection.

Really fun to watch them interact. I was smiling the whole time during their interaction. I really loved how open, insightful, and honest Nelson was with his previous relationship and his struggles with his weight. The "therapist" side of me was verbally validating him as I watched the video. 😂😀
