I love Skip and he is a GREAT in this industry, though his alure has lost its luster. The Shannon Sharpe situation definitely painted Skip in a negative light. Clearly without Skip, Shannon would not have even had that opportunity to shine, but public opinion is what it is. Skip Bayless is a legend and should be respected. No one stays on top forever, Skip had a historic run in Sports Talk/journalism media, sadly though his time is nigh. I still support the homie but tough to see him have to be propped up by another show.

1. No one would be talking about Clark if it was not for the media’s hype job, due to all the hate that was brought on by last years LSUs game. JuJu had some amazing accomplishments as a rookie on USC, but who cares right ? Let give more attention to the the hype job who plays no defense like Lebron. 2. Things that have happened 2 x more than an undefeated womens basketball team for the past 41 years: Earthquakes in the east coast.

Don't get me started. South Carolina is undefeated and wins National Championship and not one of the star players is captioned in the news media. Only Clark's postgame interview. SMH. Yes, she's good, but so are so many other players, even her fellow teammates. No fouls called on Iowa until late in the 4th quarter and they still lose, yet folks still calling her a GOAT. Sorry, but she didn't win a National Championship, so NO GOAT!!!

Catlin Clark is a prolific shooter and broke a bunch of records but went 0-2 in consecutive trips to the chip. That makes her the Billy Goat... We'll see who's better than her when the wnba season starts.. Also, she has to win at the Pro level to garner the respect of her peers and dominate in the league to insight more people to watch and attend the games. That's how players become the GOAT. The GOAT WCBB player is 0-2 in championship games and scored 18 points in the first quarter then got locked up the last 3 quarters when Raven Johnson became her primary defender to the point where she scored only 12 points on 25% shooting? She can be "in the conversation", but she'll never be the GOAT 🤷‍♂️

@@levonverrett6052 of course context matters and I’m not even necessarily saying Clark is the GOAT. But ring culture is just lame in all sports. That’s all they ever talk about with athletes. MVP and the championship. Especially with the NBA. And then they wonder why players don’t care about the regular season as much. Wilt Chamberlain was considered the GOAT a long time even though he played in the Bill Russell era because people recognized his individual greatness and not just recognizing the best player on the best team in Bill. We never seem to do that today. Jayson Tatum can’t be considered a great player until he wings a ring despite how great his numbers are. But yet somehow Luka who hasn’t even been to the Finals is great.

Probably also the same reason why Deion and Colorado were over-hyped..... I heard a bunch of causals making statements like "Deion is the only reason College Football is being watched".... lol. Point is, win or lose, if you're interesting, you'll get talked about. If you're not, you won't. That's just how it works. Colorado Football got more coverage this season than Michigan Football, even though the only interesting thing about them was Deion. They weren't a good team, and Deion isn't a good coach, but cats in the media (and comments) were making Deion out to be the 2nd Coming of Nick Saban.... it is what it is.

I have to disagree. If Iowa had gotten 37 points from it's bench players, they would have won. Instead they got 0 points off the bench. I think Dawn Staley might be the best coach in America -- but I think even she would agree that she has 5-10 future WNBA players on her roster...and Iowa has just Clark. What it reminds me of, is when young LeBron James "dragged" a Cleveland Cavaliers team that is generally thought to be the "worst" team to ever make the NBA finals, to the NBA championship round. That was "superhuman" on LeBron's part -- and I think most would agree, ditto for Caitlin Clark. That takes nothing away from South Carolina, who had the better team -- and deserved to win.
