I once read a great description of noodling. You stick your arm in a dark hole in the water. If you pull out a catfish your buddies pat you on the back and tell you how brave you are. If it's a snapping turtle your buddies tell you what an idiot you are for sticking your hand in a dark hole and you get a cool nickname like Four Fingered Freddy.

Given how it's not exactly easy to be a wild axolotl, I think that there's a decent chance most axolotls would prefer to have someone regularly feeding them.

There’s no enrichment, bet he won’t put in live food for him to hunt or anything. That’s like keeping a dog in a crate it’s entire life and saying “well at least he gets food” yes owning them is fine but you have to do it right.

Whales throats are too small to swallow a person. The guy that was recently swallowed by a whale while lobster diving said everything went dark and there was a strong suction before the whale opened its mouth and let him out

The pufferfish getting attacked by the big fish is from a KZfaqr Nick Bingo. He has a 6000 gallon pool pond with big salt water fish and he wasn’t feeding the big fish the puffer. He was releasing the puffer in the pond thinking it was big enough to not be bothered but was wrong. He took it out and is growing more before it goes back in. His pool pond is actually really cool imo and it seems like he puts a lot of effort into taking care of the fish.

@@potatohildy most people on reddit hate him and paul and talk about how they always remove animals from the wild and dont even quarantine them before adding them to the pool aquariums. Pretty sure they go and delete negative comments on youtube bc people try to call it out.

He’s not that great from what I understand. He always buys or catches fish from the wild that seem to always die off camera. He recently bought a blue spotted lagoon ray from a store a few weeks back and in his most recent video is nowhere to be seen in the enclosure he released it in to, it likely died from stress cause he doesn’t have any sand for the animal to bury itself in.

@@regant7064 huh, I’ve never heard that. I’ve never looked into them beyond their videos though. I’ll have to look into it because I don’t wanna support poor fish keeping. I used to be a catch ‘em all fishing fan too before I realized he was terrible. I hope that’s not the case though. Bingo does quarantine his wild catches though so that’s something.

Noodling for catfish won't break your arm unless you have brittle bones the teeth are like sandpaper so it couldn't bite you open either drowning is the main threat since the fish is really strong in the water

The Whale video where the woman is speaking is CNN reporter Jeanne Moos. This is a little niche knowledge but I worked at a news station and I would run her packages all the time because her voice annoyed one of the directors. She's one of my favorites for that reason and it put a big smile on my face hearing her.

I'm a Youth Exhibit Guide at the BAltimore National Aquarium, and archerfish are not always super accurate. We get to feed the Archerfish during some of our shifts, and there are times when 6+ fish will spit water and completely miss the insects you try and feed them.

I think the difference is for a fish it’s instinctual, for someone like a footballer it takes a lot of time training to throw something that accurate. Plus, the fish have to take water diffraction (I think that’s the right word?) into account as well since their eyes remain below the water level. And they’re potentially hitting moving insects as well

(Sorry for my orthography)In the video with the puffer and the blue and yellow cod the KZfaqr find the puffer and they put it in a karedin pond and after a while the put it in the big pond bad the cod thot it was fod so it tried to eat it. After that the puffer was scared so it put it back to the caredin pond

Yes we can throw things joust as well we nowadays joust don't throw things often and certainly not to survive. A hunter who hunts rabbits with rocks since 20 years will dome a rabbit at 10m or more with ease. The thing that is more impressive is that they don't really have to learn it.

I love puffer fish. A dentist I used to go to had this lovely tank in the middle of the waiting room, and this puffer fish would float over and interact with me. I love how they always look like they're smiling.
