Жыл бұрынCome and see behind the scenes at the fish shop when we have a delivery of new aquarium fish. Have a look at everything that happens on a fish delivery, from moving fish, clearing fish tanks, treating the new fish to a final tour of the fish shop and its new inhabitants.
This week we had deliveries of aquarium fish from Singapore, Peru, Indonesia and a couple of others. Among the species that turned up were: Tetra, Barbs, Corydoras Catfish, Platies, Cichlids and more. Let me know in the comments if you like this kind of behind the scenes look at an aquarium shop and I will endeavour to make more!

A number of month's ago, MD did a video at Martin's house when he took delivery of a massive big pond, with a viewing window. At the time he said he would do an update when Martin had finished setting it up. However, said update was never released. Has Martin finished setting up his pond?

Martin is very close to setting up. He's been busy building 3d backgrounds and building a nice framework around it. Now the weather is better the update should be soon.

I think a lot of people in my home nation of Singapore don't know that we are the world's largest exporter of ornamental fish. It's a pretty fun fact and I appreciate that it lowers the prices for us too >

as a fan from Singapore, i was definitely excited to see what sort of fish shipments comes from here when i hear you saying theres a box of it being delivered. love this behind the scene and hearing the different fishes coming in from all the different countries!

@@FishShopMatt I kept the golden about 35 years back and was great fun. My little girl has had a tank for 4 years and enjoys breeding that see keeps. A few weeks ago we picked up 6 golden and normally brown they so fun always coming up to see her and sit in the hand to see if there’s food😁. Will be a new breeding project for next year.

I would love to work in an fish shop! So sad that my town missing one. Nearest is 2 hour away and that involves mostly cat/dog stuff and only small section with basic fish. 😢 Love the vids Matt!

I had Bumblebee Platys in the first tank I ever had that was my own. Haven't seen them in shops in 15-20yrs. So cool to see!

I wish there was a fish shop like this near me :(. I'm far west of Tokyo and its amazing how terrible the care is for most the tanks I see. There is a few gem shops further away but its such a long drive. Keep up the great vids.

Those Pterosturisoma microps are so cool! A dream fish for me, but I think they're quite tricky.

I really like Angle fish especially Bulgarian Green Seal Point Angelfish, they were bred in Bulgaria, but unfortunately you can hardly find them in Bulgaria. And they are quite expensive at £25-40 for 1 fish. In our Facebook group for aquarists in Bulgaria, only a few people have them and they are very small.I really want to get a big 300-400 liter aquarium with Angel fish or Electric Blue Acara in a planted tank, but I don't have much time for the hobby. And now I am satisfied for the moment with one 30l planted with 5 red helleri. Before starting university I had 4 tanks tapwater 70,50,30l and 180l marine aquarium with 6 discus. 😌😔

Hello there Matt, I've seen your store threw MD and I love that fishtank that comes complete with light attached into the tank. You explain to MD, that the area will be a show piece area of those smaller tanks. I just can get over all scapes with smaller tanks can you do a vid of those tanks as well. Great video Matt! Love to see some behind the scenes! Question: What are you guys dosing in the system for treating new fishes? It’s so impressive to see shops like yours because where I live (Italy), we used to have only tiny fish shops with very little amount of fishes and plants so seeing all those fishes it’s absolutely incredible. Tanks also look very clean and well maintained; here shops don’t have the same care, even in fish recommendations for newbies in the hobby. For example Goldfishes are still sold most of the time in bowls 😢 sorry for my bad English, cheers from Italy!

This was really interesting! I had no idea what went on Behind the scenes. And I also have no idea how you can tell what those fish are in those bags with weird colored water and they’re stressed out from shipping😂 I would definitely have most of them wrong. I’ve also forgotten the names of the ones that I like the most… I think that they were flag acaras? They look like they were smiling😊 And I like the two different ones that you showed toward the end, the red ones and the yellow ones. I think you said that MD might use them. And the catfish with the really really long tails. I saved your video to watch at night when I needed to relax, but I might be too sleepy to have remembered everything. I think I will have to watch it again when I am awake. Thanks for all of your hard work and for sharing all of this with us!

There are quite a few maiden heads, but not all of them are like this one. This one's extra special, with a much better selection of fish.

I'd be interested too. Triec to set up a brackish tank to breed the Amanos, they carried eggs fine but getting fry to survive is too hard for a home tank. So it's now a freshwater kept at 22 degrees with cherry and snowball shrimp and a few fish that got bullied in main tank. 😊 More shrimp is goood.

The blue water is caused by Methylene Blue, which shippers use as an antioxidant, anti bacterial and anti fungal treatment

hey Matt may need to have a chat to you about sumps or air filter set ups if you get the time with ya bussy schedule things like if i have twelve 20liter tanks should i get a 300 liter air pump or go a bit higher and lets say a 600

You could probably get away with the 300 but it's always better to have the option to run them faster.

Hey Matt i need some good advice from someone that knows what they are talking about. I build my first ever fresh water tank, it's a 1500mm(lenght) X 600mm(wide) X 300mm(high). My question is what other fish can i put in the tank with neon tetras and blue dream shrimp that is very colorful (no white, yellow, orange or red) fish. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hmmm quite tricky with the colours you ruled out but my favorites would be neon dwarf rainbows, emperor tetra or something not as colourful but still cool would be black neons!
