Fall is the time of bounty in the Pacific Northwest and the West Coast of British Columbia is no exception. All kinds of wild animals including bears, eagles, whales, seals, sea lions, wolves and more flock to the river banks to fish for pacific salmon as do fishermen and fisherwomen from all over the world. In addition to salmon, the west coast temperate rainforest provides countless will edibles to forage including a large variety of mushroom, plants and berries. Hidden throughout these majestical forests are incredible limestone caves. It is believed that people of the Stone Age - Cavemen and Cavewomen once utilized caves for several reasons including temporary shelter. However, it has been determined that contrary to popular belief, caves were NOT the home of our cave folk ancestors. They were likely nomadic and opportunistic. Some reports claim that there are likely more people living in caves today than in the Stone Age.

Chums are so underrated! They look cool, they fight hard, and sometimes they bite. I wish I had a brother to do this type of stuff with.

@@xplicitfishin I’ve seen a hole full of chums and none would bite, but that’s when I am silver fishing.

@@xplicitfishin wow that’s crazy, the ones in the little river I get to sometimes fish aren’t very aggressive, but I’ve only used spinners and twitching jigs. They get so thick in the holes that it isn’t uncommon to snag them, which gets very annoying and usually I get only 1 or 2 biters a day. It’s hard to know the fish are running and I can’t go to that river since I am so busy with life, but hopefully I’ll be out soon.

@@TheCaptainQuinn If I'm right (and I am going full in here now), my little Beckenrandschwimmer-Brother and I (yes, there are some anologies) went there first in 2012 and got completely hooked. We came again in 2014 and 2015, brought my wife and after less than 5 min she hooked into a large chinook (I had to bring it in, because that was the first and -so far - last time fishing for her and her spaghetti arms went tired very quickly). Since these days this whole area is a family love affair. But we both have small children now and it is a very long way from Germany to your west coast.. but its only a question of time. The Skeena region is also an ongoing dream but we have not made it that far north so far. But your videos help us out a lot. Keep them coming...(I don't want to reveal the name of the river in public, because it is such an untouched and wild place, but it begins with C and ends with River ;-). The end of the road is the town of T... in N... Sound).
