I've fitted 6 Shield Autocare windows (top hinged) to both my vans... From my experience, I'd say the window blind screws are too tight, hence the difficulty in their operation... If you look at the inner edge of the frame and it looks warped, just loosen them off so they are straight and they then slide no problem... 🙂 Oh I've found the best way too remove then channel tops if you've not put the ribbon back in is a Stanley knife blade edge into the gap and it lifts out with no damage... Hope this helps... 😊 Great windows and always had good service from the guys at Shield when needed... Another good vid Mel... 👍

Super team you are! I used tung oil on my oak counter top in my van. Really pleased with the result. Waterproof and no colour change.

Hi Mel. There's 3 videos fitting these windows now, cause I posted one last week lol. What a pain in the bum they were to fit too. Hardly any of the holes lined up, and the instructions I managed to get from the company, just didn't make sense. I managed by hook and by crook to get them in though, and they don't look too bad in the end. Square frames and rounded windows just don't go in my opinion lol. I'm enjoying your vids by the way, always straight to the point, without any messing around. I've just fittind my big bonded sliding door window, with a little help from your vids, so thanks for that. You even get a mention in the video :) Cheers, Michael.

By the way, the screws they supply are Philips heads not Pozzi. I had much better results with them when I changed screwdriver heads. I only snapped 1 out 3 after that lol

Hi Mel, Nice windows. Tip always use a pilot drill in hardwoods bit should be a couple of mm smaller than screw shank. Then get a little bit of butter/marg on a tea spoon and dip the screws in . Greasing the screw makes a big difference and they will go in nice and smooth.

Nice one Mel, it's really good to see team work and giving folks a dig out. Your advice re screwdrivers is first class! Power tools are excellent but when it comes to precision work a correct driver for a given screw type is the way to go 👍 If you are at a bit of a loose end, hop on a ferry and you can help me get Herman out of dry dock....his refit is dragging on a bit too long 😅

Nice one, Mel! What a great community that's getting built there.🔨🧰🪚 I was thinking that's a high 'celling' in that box van. It will be interesting how that could be utilised........ like one of those beds that can be raised up out of the way. You wouldn't even notice up there ! 📤🛏📥

got all my windows from shield would not recommend them as a company the windows are good the company has never herd of customer care or quality of service .also two out of five arrived damaged shield did nothing very poor
