I also am bipolar, have ptsd, ocd, severe anxiety, and major depressive disorder, but of course I am older, so I wasn't diagnosed w/ bipolar until I was like 30, they would just say I was depressed, and would give me anti depressants, and gave me stuff for anxiety, I know the depression really started when I was around 16, but I had the anger as well that I told them about, but they always blew that part off...I wouldn't hurt people, well I could say I did, because I would take my anger out on some people, never physical, I would always save that for the house, ripping doors off hinges, punching walls, and completely ripping apart the house...I came to find out my father was bipolar as well, which he was also diagnosed w/ just depression, his father my grandfather actually killed himself, I was only about 1 year old, he was bipolar, but never diagnosed w/ it...and my sister of course is as well, also my Aunt, it seems to run on my father's side of the family, and even back then, they also said it didn't run in families...well they were wrong....and now they do say it can run in families.I am now 43 and on 3 different meds, which does help, but it took years to try to get me on the right things that actually helped, not completely but better than I was, and after i was diagnosed w/ everything, I now have a team of people, the psychiatrist, a medication specialist, and a counselor, that i have been w/ for 13 years now, and it's still hard, but doing this, and talking everything out, and them telling me how to try to cope w/ certain things, I can tell I'm better than I was, and I'm very sorry to hear about your parents not trying to help you through it...mine I wouldn't say they were totally supportive at first because like I said I was just diagnosed w/ depression, so they didn't understand the whole rage part, but once they had the understanding of it...they were better w/ me about it, and even though my father had it, he never thought he did..he had the manic part alot, and the outbursts of anger...and when he was manic he would gamble, and he did it a lot...so much so that i had to save the house because it was going into foreclosure along w/ the land, that is back when my mother passed, and I had to spend all the money we had received from her life insurance to keep the house, the land, and pay all the back taxes, that my father gambled away, and w/ in 3 years he passed as well, and left me w/ a mortgage of over 60,000, and of course he had no life insurance because he cashed it in to gamble that away as well...so yeah for me I need counseling...I don't know where I would be w/ out it...I have a boyfriend also for the last 13 years, and he doesn't seem to understand why I couldn't stop my father from gambling...people that never went through that kind of stuff have no idea...and I even said did you want me to chain him to the house so he couldn't go anywhere???...he was blaming me actually, I told my father numerous times about it, but of course that didn't work...and when it is mental, it will not work, unless they get the help they need, which he would never go to try to get help, my sister even had him committed, but when he came back he was okay for a while, but then went off the meds, like a lot of people do .....sorry so long...but I'm just happy that you shared your story, it's inspirational, and can help others...and I hope you get better day by day...I wish there was just 1 magic pill that could help w/ everything, but unfortunately that isn't the way it works...you're a survivor..remember that, and you are a very strong person, and I'm glad you have your husband who cares so much, and loves you no matter what, and also I believe people should talk about it, because bipolar, and a lot of other disorders, there are a lot of people that suffer w/ it, bipolar itself they claim that like 5.7 million people suffer from it...I know when I talk to people that i have known for years, but haven't talked to them in awhile.I end up finding out that they have the same thing, or similar disorders..but yes a lot of people are afraid to talk about it, because others that have no clue, or never had family or friends w/ it, what you think is they think you're automatically crazy, but the ones that stick by you no matter what, are the ones that you need to be close to, screw the other people that no longer want to be near you because of something you have that you have no control over! take care!

I lost both my dad and little brother to suicide. This song brings back so many emotions, and helps to see the other side of the issue. So many times people make a choice to end their life. And those of us left behind don't always understand why or what caused them to make that decision. No matter how mad you might be with someone, ALWAYS let them know how you feel about them. It may be your last chance. And it might just save their life.

I haven't watched the rest of the video yet, but I was told from a loved one who has a history of mental illness that it's worse than prison. In prison, you know when you are getting out. In a mental ward in a hospital, you get out when a doctor decides that you are "better".

I joined the US ARMY when I was 19 to escape a dark, abusive, stress-strewn, childhood home. My reasons; admittedly weren't the best, but I did it to end my life since I was unable to bring myself to do it on my own- not the most pleasant thought, but it is what it is. When first deployed I took risks and gambles that were simply passed off as "he's just gung ho," doing my best to mitigate any injury to my section-mates. I attempted to do just that and the resulting situation wasn't pretty- but it taught me far more in 0.3 seconds than the previous 19+ years had about myself. After a few more hits to the head (some metaphorical), I found that I could be more productive if I simply helped those that I could- instead of selfishly pushing for my own self destruction. I have been a civvy for more than twelve years now, doing whatever I can to help a fellow vet or their family. Due to my childhood and military baggage I only sleep an average of 15-18 minutes a day and have a number of darker anniversaries that can make life ugly for weeks at a time, but it doesn't matter. I do it to spare folks who couldn't or shouldn't have to see or endure the things I and countless others have. I want to leave this place just a little better than it was when I first got here. I apologize for the vagaries but it's just less painful to explain to folks than the alternative. That said, I have an odd suggestion for a song- if I may? This Means War by Avenged Sevenfold. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gM2bZthlmb2WmWg.html While not technically an uplifting tune, it describes the mental conflict that many survivors face when they get to walk away from a tragedy- injured, damaged, but not broken...simply mending and healing over a long, long stretch of time. Thanks for the raw and genuine content, have a good one. #WeAreWithYou #PainInTheAsk

I'm friends with their guitarist Jason and meet them all. They are the nicest people. They went out of their way to show my daughter all around the stage and took her out on stage during one of their songs. It's a memory that will last forever. I've been around since metal stated and back then it's was started as a place where being different and unique was accepted. Everyone was welcome. Now it's full of all these sub genres and they all think they are the best. It's crazy! There is no best it's what speaks to you and how you're feeling. Some makes you hype, some makes you cry and some makes you think. So please don't shit on someone who gets something out of it that you don't. All music has purpose and means something to someone. #wearewithyou

FFVision, I know that cover. FFDP's version is about group of long time buddies witnessed a tragedy on TV, and they decided to join in the Army. During one of the mission, their vehicle of the Caravan hit an IED and exploded killing all but one buddy. He went home after being discharged facing survivor guilt - drinking and thinking about committing suicide. Then he went back to re enlist into Army as a commander to new recruits...…..like Wrong Side of Heaven - FFDP focus on the plight of our veterans - homelessness & suicides.

#wearewithyou Kel and rich, thanks for the shout out, I'm a Desert Storm vet, been diagnosed with PTSD severe depression sheepdog syndrome and battle mind trama, I've been through 15 surgeries, was in a coma for 3 months and have accualy been pronounced dead three different times. These daily battles have taken there tole over the years, I take morphine hydrocodone and I also get a Ketamin Infusion twice every 3 weeks, all that just to dull the pain. I'm not looking for sympathy, I knew going in that things (war) was no picnic, I consider myself to be a person of strong will, but this pain is RELENTLESS, it never stops, I've considered taking my own life many times. Thanks again for your support, with all that being said, I HEAR YOU.

It’s really true what the video says at the end, one friend can save a life. I’ve found myself being that friend more times than I can count. I don’t know how but I keep being approached by people who confide in me that they feel suicidal. At least ten times it’s happened. Friends, family, total strangers. I’ll always be there for someone who needs help. So if you’re someone who feels that way I just wanna say... I love you, and there are others who do too. For their sake and for yours, please don’t go through with what you’re thinking of, that’s never the answer. You are loved, if you believe nothing else believe that, you ARE loved and you’re stronger than you know.

After 35 years in the Army and my son getting killed by an IED in Afghanistan just 3 weeks after I retired the demons got to be to much and I tried to kill myself. Police were called by my daughter and a combat veteran officer talked to me and I gave him my pistol. I was lucky to have a psychiatrist who is a veteran. I'm home and doing much better. This video is a masterpiece for kids to see right now and the perfect example why it is so very important to check up on the people in your life that you love and look for the signs like this kid giving his things away. Check on your loved ones and let them know that your there and you have all the time there is to listen to them and for God's sake, look past the COVID-19 thing about "social distancing" and wrap your arms around them and tell them that you love em.

That last message always gets me. I've always dealt with depression...but when I was younger I made several attempts to take my own life...I won't go into the details since its not an easy topic for me. But a close friend of mine did notice and one day she just sat down and talked with me...that talk changed my life, and while I do still have depression with her help I manage it better. And to anyone that reads this and feels the need to simply talk, I'll listen and your worth it.

This video was super touching to me. I am 18 years old tight now and my name is Ethan and I'm fresh out of highschool basically. I have also struggled with autism my whole life. I don't like to tall about it a lot because I feel like it makes me weird. Yet here I am talking about it. On top of that I struggle with bipolar depression. Theres days I wake up and want to end everything, and then there is days I wake up and everything is just fine. Either way I struggle daily. This video touches me so much because there is many messages in here that I relate to. I have never tried to commit suicide but there has been times more than ever especially now that I have seriously considered it. I even drink behind my dad's back and get drunk in front of my online friends. He's never at home when I drink either. Anyway thank you both for reacting to this song.

I hope it's not too late; I feel for you a bit. I have autism, and having epilepsy for 20 years, then brain surgery to stop the seizures left me trashed. I can go from being distant and not really feeling anything to easily slipping over the edge and crying without much meaning. Something else which gets to me is the results of be brain surgery had me ruled incompetent to do financial or legal stuff for myself, so instead of being 38 years old like I am, I feel like that 13 year old I was when the seizures started. Try reaching out to your online friends for help. If it hadn't been for one who had me promise that I would never commit suicide, I doubt that I would be here now. Over the years, a few other friends have become so close that they are like adopted family. Even though I can have trouble living day to day, I love to help out my online friends to get through their lives. Last year, I helped one who was getting physically abused by her parents to go to her boyfriend and his mother for support. She is now living with them, and he is doing things like finding jobs for her to apply for.

@@chisaten I owe it too my friends that I font commit suicide. The thought of what would happen to them emotionally gives me the strength to push on. If it wasn't for the three good online friends I have, I'd have ended it months ago. Good to hear I'm not the only one who feels this way. I wish you luck friend.

Hey Kel N Rich. I just found you channel and subscribed, Both of you (and your supporters) are doing great work! I'm a mental health therapist/counselor in a non-traditional (alternative education) high school and private practice. Been in the business 30+ years working with teen, ex-con, health professionals...... I want to say thank you for taking the risk and handling such heart-wrenching, difficult, beautiful, life things with such grace and honor and understanding and caring!! Please, please, please!!!! with mad respect to you both-- Be sure to take care of yourselves ...each other. These emotionally charged topics have a cost to the heart, a burden to the soul of those who care. Selfishly, I love watching you laugh together. :-) Peace and Prayer to you. Back in my adolescence I was continuously bullied for no reason! When I was 18 I went to Mountaineer Challenge Academy here in WV and opened up since then! Now the ones that bullied me apologize when they see me! But I don’t abuse my size, I decided to teach others that it’s not okay and one day it could go different! #Wearewithyou

Thank you for spreading Awareness. I am a Veteran. I have mental health issues, Bi-polar, Borderline Personality Disorder and PTSD from childhood and military. I've been suicidal and homeless. I'm 46, retired and a proud grandfather. I still live with my issues, luckily I have a great support system now. They know the signs of my weaknesses because I educated them, that is the key to my success. Thank you and keep up the GREAT work. It means more than you'll ever know to us.

Any parent that sees this comment, please read this!!!! BE THERE FOR YOUR KIDS!!!! Ask them what's wrong, ask questions, and listen!!!! As a kid who was bullied, that animated part is what I felt, especially in my dreams. That animation, is literal depiction of fighting your demons. I fought depression and suicide. One of the things that kept me going was I kept telling myself "Your friends and family would be sad if you left them". One other big thing that kept me going, I had parents that where there for me. One time in the 7th grade, my parents could tell something was wrong, and they asked me "What's going on", and I just bursted out crying for 5 straight minutes.

Alot of the issues addressed in this video are commonplace in society but we look the other way because confronting them is either hard or uncomfortable and many times people suffer for our inability or unwillingness.

You two must be the cutest couple ever. Been watching you for a long time. I'm from Turkey and watching this made me remember my period of 5 attempted but fortunately failed suicide. I must tell you that I really find comfort in your videos. So big thanks from the other part of the world. As a disabled veteran I really appriciate you react to 5FDP - Gone away (official video). Warning, it will be gut puncher but that covers what I felt after I lost my two comrades to a ambush while we were patrolling the mountains. It was hard to cope with survives guilt, the comrades i lost as just behind me and we blown up because i stepped on a mine, resulting the deaths of my friends and my left leg. I tried overdose, hanging myself. I'm not ashamed to share this, nor I'm not trying to be a special snowflake. Just wanted to share this with you guys. I will be more than honored if you read my comment and react to the video i suggest. Metal horns and love from here. Stay cute as always you have been. #wearewithyou PS: Sorry for the edited comment my typos. I just got shaken a bit.

#wearewithyou I'm from the U.S.A and from the state of Pennsylvania. i suffered from relentless bullying both physically and very. Outside of school 3 bullies beat me to a pulp and I was defenseless... they beated me senseless. I endured 30 punches to my head. Kicked in the stomach 30 times. Then one of them held me as the other two began to beat my back with sticks with thorns on them

As someone who dealt with depression for a while. When I was overseas for the first time being away from my family for the holidays and celebrations. I felt alone but I remember my battle buddies. Just bursting into the barracks room and grabbing me then saying. “Hey the platoon is having a barbecue for Christmas. Let’s go eat and drink man.” I’m very thankful for my brothers who helped me through the pain and loneliness.
