Had a lady in the coffee shop I was studying at (uh. you know. back when we were going places with other people in them) loudly comment to her friend about how hunchbacked The Youths are these days and how it makes us all look prematurely old which. I was right next to them & actively slumped over while studying. Like... I am right here and CAN in fact hear you lol. If my neck wasn't legit stiff I would never do a back exercise again out of pure spite. Alas this... actually does make my neck & upper back feel better. Mean Cafe Lady wins this one.

I've been doing the YWLT for a year now and my neck no longer hurts. I do a variation: I hold each position for a count of 30, 3 times a week. After a year of doing this, my upper back and chest are much stronger and my neck pain is gone because my posture is straight and I stand up straight. It's an amazing change that makes feel much better about myself and more confident about how I look at 70. It has led to many related adjustments. When I look down, for example when cooking, I keep my cervical spine straight and bend my head. This exercise has been life-changing and for that, I am so grateful.

For anyone just starting their journey, IT WORKS! Please don't give up. With daily effort, your posture can literally become unrecognizable. It's possible and SO worth it! Focus on all 3; stretching, behavior, and strength (in that order). If you have more than one area of your spine to address, make sure to work your way from feet to head. And if you have forward head posture, you can't really fix it without addressing your pelvis and spine first. Good luck! =)

@ramtinminaian
@ramtinminaian 2 жыл бұрын
@@vishnus3099 im sorry you got bullied man, some people are human garbage.. but it seems like it hurt your confidence alot, which is normal, and your mental state effects your posture. It wont go away by doing these exercises shown. You need a balanced workout, where you train all your muscles, but first start with mobility routines, and going for a walk everday, then once your body loosens up, start building strength. Work on your confidence by having those goals everyday, and also other goals like studying, and your confidence/body will improve alot

These are fantastic exercises that I’m excited to get started with. I definitely suffer from severe head forward / rounded shoulders. This was the result of being afflicted with Ankylosing Spondylitis in my early teens that went undiagnosed for almost 15 years. There weren’t many computer screens and certainly not cell phones back then so this condition (head forward) can be caused by other factors. Thanks for this, I’m very much hoping it can help me get somewhat back to a normal posture.

These are great. I found that after doing them for two days my body naturally wanted to move into a more neutral position when my head started going forwards. So with regular practice the good posture should become more of the norm. I did find that after the exercises, doing some gentle forward bends helped so stretch out the back muscles after being worked. Thanks so much.

Hey everyone! I am 18 and realized I had really bad posture because of my traps pain. My head was really in the front because I’m a gamer + have eyes problem, so I always used to tilt my head forward. Watched the video to day, did the exercise once and I already see a difference! I will do them regularly because I believe it will make my life better! Thanks a lot 🙏

Dr. Oliver: Well done presentation. There are far too many exercise videos online where the movements, positioning, breathing, etcetera, aren't explained properly; Your explanations and examples are concise, thorough, and easy to follow.

i Have watched more than 30 videos on Neck issues And read more than 20 articles on this..This is the best, practical N informative video i have seen.This video was able to explain points of issues according to a person having forward head posture where as majority of KZfaq videos, doesn't discuss these issues as they are unaware of it. This guy shows excersse slowly N with different angles covering all possible incorrect way a forward head posture person could do.

THANK YOU. Although I'm (painfully) aware of the issue, it's many years of poor eyesight and computer use and now at my elder years I'm sure feeling the consequences. However, I know I can relieve some of the pain and improve posture. I knew some of the exercises but this short video puts them all together with a few more additions. Very well explained too! thanks very much, I'm sure you're helping many people around the world!!

Even as a Physical Therapist myself, I have my share of poor posture too at work especially when doing these reports. Lots of typing and writing. However, one thing really that reminds me to correct myself is seeing videos like this. Everytime I educate people, reminds me as well to do what I preach. Thanks to you. :-)

Okay so I found this video like 2 or so months ago. I did all this regularly plus I straightened myself up whenever I felt like I was slouching. I did this every night before sleeping(takes less than 5 minutes) and I haven't been that frequent BUT these have made a visible difference in me, especially with my shoulder shape. My shoulders look square not round and there's some collar bone visible as well. And let me tell you, I'm not a skinny girl. Seeing collar bones and being slightly on the heavy side is so amazing. Thank you for uploading this~!

Ever since the first lockdown, I pretty much completely neglected my workouts. I realize now how much damage that really did to my posture. Been struggling with Fwd Head Posture for a while, also some other posture-related stuff, and this physical inactivity of mine for the past year really highlighted those problems even more than before... I definitely need to get back into that rhythm of doing stuff that benefits my health! Amazing video, I'm sure this will help me a lot in the coming months.

I'm 19 and my forward head posture is worse than most elderly people and being 6'2" doesn't help. I recently realized just how inflexible I am because of it after practicing several yoga stretches. As a result of my bad posture, I have constant neck and upper back pain. I hope doing these stretches every day will help my condition :)
