These days it’s usually the return spring snaps and puts a hole in the brake chamber diaphragm. Haven’t changed one in a long time now, some chambers are even sealed units now

Looked well in ya googles a proper minion struggler 🤣🤣

In my youth we used to repair handbrake chambers till one day the tool failed and the main spring went through the roof and smashed the stores office glass roof on the way down chamber was corroded nothing lasts forever got exchange units after that Those rubber diaphragm where brilliant different sizes and many uses Nuts and bolt retainers , splash of grease containers ,. Safe place for greasy hub bearings Used them as knee pads and not to mention hats and frisbees We just fit new bits now don't overhaul nothing these days
