I have Another Video on Fixing Samsung Fridge Ice up and Leak issue but after a couple of years i had the same thing happen again so i decided to make this second video and I hope to fix the problem once and for all!

I bought the part and it fixed the issue for awhile. Now I have the issue again and have to clean out ice weekly - sad @samsung won’t address this issue and/or cover it under warranty. Videos like this should not exist for consumers and known issues

Thank you very much! I love our old fridge, but was surprised this is a known issue since this is the first time this leak has happened to us. Will try this before purchasing a new fridge.

Thanks for the video! Moral of the story - NEVER EVER BUY ANY SAMSUNG PRODUCTS! WE'VE HAD TWO DIFFERENT SAMSUNG REFRIGERATORS, A SIDE-BY-SIDE, & A FRENCH DOOR MODEL. THEY BOTH SUCK BC OF ISSUES LIKE THIS. OUR $1600 SMART WASHER WAS THE DUMBEST PURCHASE WE EVER MADE. IT NEVER REALLY CLEANED OUR CLOTHES & WITHIN THE FIRST MONTH IT DEVELOPED THE INFAMOUS SAMSUNG MOLD ISSUE.

Hi there thanks for your video now i can do it by myself! Just a question my fridge have 2 small cracks on the top edge where the piece of foil tape is you think thats a reason why i have a leak under my crispier drawer?

It's not just Samsung, I have a GE that looks exactly the same inside. The truth is all these different brands of fridges come off the same assembly line, they just change nameplates and a few accessories, but it's the same damn fridge with the same flipping issue as my GE.

My frig isn't exactly like this one. The heating element is at the bottom and already has a welded on clip that drops down close to the drain. The video didn't show very well how the T shaped clip should go on. Do you place it over the heating element with the other piece of metal and then wrap the 2 side pieces on the heating element to secure? Thanks

You forgot to bend the end tabs around the heater to hold in place and increase heat conductivity.

From what I can find on KZfaq the ice is caused by a bad seal because of the cheap foam and thin cheap seal. I am going with drying everything out and replacing the seal as perfectly as possible. A good fit will stop entry of warm moist air where its not supposed to be. And to replace the metal tab into the drain so it doesn't ice up.

Would’ve been nice to show where the sensors are in the unit, in case unlike you someone that bought the “kit” wanted to replace them. Also mention maybe should’ve been made of the easier first step fixing this common malady, checking the bottom rear of the fridge for a plugged rubber duckbill at the drain tube end. If it’s slits are clear, then by all means thaw and tear into the evaporator area as you adeptly did; your missing probe was the obvious cause then. As others note, you didn’t bend the probe tabs around the heat tube. I understand that now Samsung’s kit can include bottom drain tube replacements with duckbills that have extra holes in them, to mitigate plug ups.

hi i seem to have the exact same model. been having the same problem with ice buildup and water leaking at the bottom and your video was very helpful thanks a lot. i have another problem though: after a few years of good functioning, now water comes out very slow from the dispenser. is there anything i can do to fix it?

@UgoMarsolais hi, no i haven't. in fact i was never able -i think- to install the original filter. i followed the instructions to align the little keylock marks and rotate the filter in but it does not seem to work. if i remove it i see no water leaking and if i shake the filter i hear the sound of dry stones inside it. no water. so i have been using bottled drinking water. it all worked fine for 9 years. now all of a sudden it is just as i described. thanks

In order to change the water filter you have to turn off the water to the house otherwise the water pressure is too high to remove the filter.

Hi, we've recently had the same issue where ice has built up behind the back panel on our Samsung refrigerator. We went through the process of melting all the ice and putting in an aftermarket heat clip that looks exactly like the one you just installed. It's only been 3 months since doing that and it has ice build up again. Do you have any other suggestions to try and fix it?

Mine is doing the same thing, installed the clip and it’s happening again. This time (today), I bought some wire from Lowe’s. Cut it and took the ground wire (all copper) and wrapped it around the big copper heating element in the fridge and actually lowered it really far into the drain first. I’m hoping this will work! In theory, it should heat up like the clip and help it not freeze. NEVER BUYING ANOTHER SAMSUNG PRODUCT AGAIN!

@@travelingbead no I didn’t take any pictures, I’m not sure if it’s going to work yet or not. I just basically took the copper wire (the ground wire) from a wire set and fed it pretty deep into the drain and then wrapped the end around the heating element as much as I could. I’m hoping it will let the heat expand a bit further

@@pagnotta24 ok prolly a dumb question but I'm assuming the heating element is what he attached the clip to? I'm going to try the copper wire method since I'm seeing issues with the clips in the comments. I just want to make sure I'm connecting the wire to the correct part.
