open key with stanley knife (blade type) squeeze buttons against circuit board and try pressing the unlock/lock buttons to see if it works because what could be happening is the circuit moves away from buttons due to pressing too hard over a long period of time. I used vinyl wrap off cuts to fill in the back cover and give it some pressure on the back side of the circuit board as much as permissible then super glue it back together after testing successfully of course.....worked for me.

Did you figure it out? I have the exact sabe issue. I even opened apart one of the keys and solder a new battery, nothing.

you need number 15, i have the same problem. i go to the bmw dealer to fix it. and they gived me the fuse what was not working. and that was 15. try it

Try the diversity board as this controls unlocking. Could also be a broken wire from the diversity to the front of the car (via under the headlining)

Same thing happened to my sons key and said he was removing and replacing the key on the fob about times and it started working, give it a try

My key was not working, I took the key from the fob and opened the trunk , alarm sounds for ten minutes as I was hooking up car batt charger. Replace battery in fob, still not working. Set alarm off again, used key to unlock door put fob into ignition,started fine, alarm off. Ran for a few minutes. Then checked the remote again, working fine. I think putting it into ignition reprogramed it back to the car after months of not using it. I Don't know

Not sure if this is the problem with my 2018 BMW because one key works and the other doesn't. If it was a fuse then both keys wouldn't work right?

I can not open my car with the buttons on the key fob’ so once l open manually l insert my key nothing comes on the dash even the steering wheel stays locked its dead dead ‘ do l need the new key or battery’ much appreciated

I think you need to reprogram your key. Sounds like it reset or something after the dealership

Man I have almost the same, except for me only 1 key fob is not locking. It does unlock, open trunk and start the car without any issues. My other key works perfectly fine. What’s your guess? Cheers

I have a similar problem. One keyfob will not unlock/lock the doors but will start the car. My other keyfob works %100. I noticed this problem right after I changed the actual car battery in the car.

You said the fuse thing didn't fix it. Your battery must be dead even if the car doesn't tell you. My 2nd key battery died because I never used it and when inserted in the car there is no warning at all. Warnning must only apply to the comfort acces ones.

And if one of the key is still not working, the key is defect and need to be replaced. or research alot of information to fix the key by you're self
